Hi, I'm Norman, I have just opened my new salon named Heaven well it's not actually new I opened in 1994 and that salon existed until 2002 and because of various circumstances I decided to close the salon down. It was based in Stockport Village, which was in the process of shutting down in 2002 so I decided to do clients at home and look after my baby daughter. But after 14 years....phew...I thought it was time for a comeback and lets face it Vinyl came back and the Stone Ros...es so what the hell I might as well give it a go.
I've been in Hairdressing for a very long time.... cough.." I don't know if i should say this" Since the 1970's I have worked with and been trained by the best... Vidal Sassoons (dried many a haircut of the wonderful Trevor Sorbie, around the time he brought out the wedge) and most of my training was at the hands of those Genius men Damien and Jason who were amazing and that should have been known globally. Ah, that's enough of me being sentimental after all that I have worked at a few well known salons in Manchester and managed a couple of Salon's myself, I have also done some session work for a catalogue and done hair shoots for the Manchester evening news.I have been employed to teach cutting techniques to junior staff who have become successful hairdressers today, but i'm not mention names that would be bragging.
One person who I used to work with I have to mention is the late Ray Allington. He was an honour to work with and was a good friend of mine when I was young. He was probably one of the most lovely people I have ever known and was truly a remarkable hairdresser
