Yesterday we asked on our Twitter feed @HMSEagletRNR how many people could name the vessel in the left of this photo.
Can more of our Facebook followers name her?
Whilst you’re thinking about ships of the Royal Navy, don’t forget the ‘stone frigates’ such as us, HMS Eaglet. Called a stone frigate because we are a ship and her company but ashore, traditionally housed in stone (but more often in brick) rather than steel.
... But it’s not just us Royal Naval Reservists who use our stone frigate. We house several organisations and service the local community in a number of different ways.
In our building, you will find a variety of people looking to teach and inspire young people, teenagers and adults in the ethos of the Royal Navy and the maritime world.
These range from Liverpool Universities Royal Naval Unit (LURNU) to the Sea Cadets and many more! Quite a busy and important place, I’m sure you’ll agree.
If on your commute or weekend stroll you spot our name on the gangway, like in the picture below, please do take a quick snap and share it with us!

This weekend the ship's company are refreshing some of their core maritime skills.
Knowing what to do if the worst were to happen is key to survival at sea. The training also helps cement teamwork and relying on the friends around you.
This training helps us stay fresh and ready to deploy alongside the Royal Navy when we are required.
... Tomorrow we are opening our doors to you so come and have a look at how you can get involved and upgrade your free time! FREE tickets are available on the Eventbrite link below.

Success for HMS EAGLET sailors
The sailing team from HMS EAGLET, the Royal Naval Reserve (RNR) Unit in Liverpool, travelled to HMS EXCELLENT to the Maritime Reserve Regatta in September. 15 sailing boats, each helmed and crewed by two Reservists, took part in the series of races over two days The team Captain; PO Rosina Hearn took LNN Fiona Simkins, Lt Samson-Jones and PO Phil Lewis to what was the last regatta sailing in RN Bosuns. Sailing in the RN Bosuns over the years has... provided some exciting and close racing and this year was no exception. Day 1 saw a moderate breeze and in one of HMS EAGLET’s boats, LNN Simpkins took the helm with PO Hearn as crew. Speaking of the races PO Hearn said: “We were challenging for the top spot all day and we were over the moon the score a win!” Novice Lt Sampson-Jones took the helm for HMS EAGLET’s second boat on Day 2. With PO Lewis as crew and a stronger breeze the team made the most of the Bosuns last day in the water. LNN Simpkins and her crew had another remarkable day and were placed 3rd on points. During the prize giving, LNN Simpkins was awarded both the Best Female Rating (Helm) and the highest placed female ratings. Lt Sampson-Jones made an impressive debut and was rewarded with the trophy for the highest placed Novice Crew.
