Information for the UK House Price Index for October 2018 shows that, on average, house prices have fallen by 0.2% since September 2018. However, there has still been an annual price rise of 2.7% from the year before, meaning the average UK house price is now ┬Ż231,095.

The Bank of England has increased interest rates to 0.75%.
The rate has risen by a quarter of a percentage point, from 0.5% to 0.75% - the highest level since March 2009.
While the decision means that the 3.5 million people with variable or tracker mortgages will pay more, the rise will be welcomed by savers.
... Mark Carney, the Bank's governor, said there would further "gradual" and "limited" rate rises to come.
