Hollingworth Village Store And Post Office Description
We are the only newsagent that delivers magazines and newspapers (including the Tameside Advertiser) in Hollingworth and we will deliver everywhere in our village early in the morning. We have a team of dedicated news deliverers who work 7 days a week for your convenience. Our range of wines is sure to cater for every taste and pocket and we stock a varied choice of beers, ciders and spirits too! Our bread and milk is delivered fresh daily and we sell fresh fruit & veg, fresh meats, as well as fresh farm eggs; medium, large and free range. Kids love our specially made sweet mixes and adults love our huge selection of weigh out sweets! We sell a full range of groceries, frozen food, pet food, household goods, DIY essentials, greeting cards, chemist sundries and ice cream.
You can have your groceries delivered by us within 2 hours of your order being placed (subject to a minimum spend of £15 excluding tobacco products and top-ups /utility payments). We accept debit /credit card payments and also have a free to use cash machine in store. You can pay your gas, electric and water bills here as well as your council tax and many other payments as well as phone top ups.
If we don't have what you want, ask us and if we can do anything better, tell us.

We have a new range of pet supplies; hamster food, parrot food, tropical fish flakes, hedgehog food, straw, hay, wood shavings....... if there is anything we don’t stock please ask. You never know, we might just be able to get it for you and at the lowest price possible. 👍

I have already posted this on HP&P and FoH, but for those friends, neighbours and customers old and new that haven’t read it, I am posting on here too.... Lots of people still don’t know that the Post Office dispenses cash. You can have it in Fivers, Tenners, Twenties or even coins! The sun doesn’t shine on the screen, your card is never in danger of being swallowed, our terminal can’t be cloned and you are unlikely to be accosted by someone behind you trying to steal your freshly withdrawn funds. Use your Post Office. 😉
Help! Need a new paper delivery person Monday to Fridays. Our current lad is giving up to concentrate on his studying. The round takes about an hour and the pay is £25. Starting next Monday, but whoever wants to do it would need to be shown round at least once before Monday.
Many apologies to all my newspaper customers. This week my supplier, Smiths News, has not delivered my supply on time once! It is now 7.10am, I have my news delivery team ready to go out but can’t. Yesterday the papers arrived at 6.20am so I only lost sales to my early customers but that is not acceptable either. On Wednesday the papers arrived at 8.15 which meant lost sales and deliveries to the majority of my customers. Smiths news, a monopoly, do not care and I am at a loss as to what I can do. I wish I could print the damned papers myself! I am at the end of my tether! 😡🤬

Good afternoon friends and loyal customers. Just to put you in the picture. This morning at 5.45 I was held up by 3 masked men wielding an axe and knives. I was threatened with my life and they proceeded to rob the Post Office and shop. The Post Office will remain closed today and possibly all of tomorrow whilst further investigations are carried out. I apologise to all my newspaper delivery customers for not getting your papers out to you this morning. We had to stay closed whilst the police and detectives took statements and forensics carried out their investigations. I also apologise for any inconvenience cause by the shop being closed. The shop is now open as usual but the Post Office is closed. Sorry to repeat myself.

Just had our second delivery of handmade cakes and fancies from Millwards. They sold out within two days last time so we have increased the order a tad! 😀
