This is good news from the Department of Health and Social Care and perfectly timed for the coming week.
Along with other offices in the Home Instead Senior Care franchise we will be participating in our #YouCanCare campaign dispelling some of the myths about being a CAREGiver.

We had a lovely email from a clients family members about one of our CAREGivers.
"This is the picture I took of Dad and Leanne when she visited him on Valentine’s Day in hospital!
She is an amazing caregiver and dad thinks the world of her, she obviously knows him very well and brought him a cup of tea and bar of chocolate as a Valentine’s Day gift!
... He’s now out of hospital and settled into his short stay at Bruce Lodge and still enjoying his trips out with Leanne. "
Well done Leanne <3

Afternoon Tea and Dance in order to raise money for B.E.S.T Brinnington Equipment Support Team.
B.E.S.T group was formed after recognising there was a need in the local community to access equipment either not available on the NHS or where there is a a long waiting list. These are pieces of equipment for individuals to improve either their quality of life in the short term or longer as required. They regularly hold fundraising events.

Yesterday was our monthly hosted lunch club Friendly Fridays. We served hot pot with pie crust stars in honour of our recent Star award for "Best Home Care Provider in Stockport". Followed by home made apple pies and cream. We also had alternatives available for younger visitors and vegetarian options, plus some French Fancies.
Some of our new trainees came to visit Friendly Fridays and helped us out in the kitchen too. Great to see some of our CAREGivers and clients attend...ing too.
Lots of empty bowls and plates with smiles at the end <3 One of the visitors said "That was lovely, reminded my of the food my Nana used to make", another commented saying "home cooked food at it's best!"
It was our pleasure we thoroughly enjoyed it.

One of the many things our CAREGivers enjoy doing with our clients is taking them to social groups. Suraya takes Jan (our client) to a group called Living in the Present. They meet every Tuesday in a local pub, they play darts, participate in games and other activities. All in a day's job being a CAREGiver with our team.

When Clare was visiting Friendly Fridays last week she met Tegan from the Co-op, who is a member pioneer. Tegan was sharing with visitors information about Fair Trade products and offering some tasty treats. Clare and Tegan got chatting and are planning to team up with Friendly Fridays for a special event later in March. Stay tuned to find out more soon.

This job is more than just a 'job'. It's a vocation. It's challenging, yet rewarding......difficult at times, yet easy at others.....no two days are the same. I've been working in care for years, but here at Home Instead for six months, yet I'm still learning. I love the staff, fellow caregivers but most importantly, the clients. To be trusted and loved by people at such a vulnerable time in their life is absolutely amazing X

User

The best company I have ever worked for! Such a fantastic group of people. The ethos of Home Instead and the passion shared by all makes me want to get up and go to work every day! X

I have just completed a weeks training at Home Instead. It really has been a fantastic week.

I have learnt so so much and I have been so very warmly welcomed by all of the Team and I know that as I start my journey as a CAREGiver I will be supported every step of the way.

I have also met 3 lovely ladies, who were also on their training too.

The one thing that has been evident in such a huge abundance is just how much everyone cares about the clients. Always striving to give the best possible care whilst retaining the clients rights to choice, dignity and promoting the clients independence to the best of their ability.

I very much look forward to starting my work and making a positive difference to people's lives

I have been working for Home Instead for 16 months & can honestly say this Company is amazing. I've worked in the care industry for 10 years & never come across a Company that are not only supportive of their clients but also the staff. They are always there to support you in your role. They believe in treating their staff by holding staff nights & family days. There are plenty of training opportunities to further develop your role in the care industry. From personal care to companionship calls & lots of fun on sleeping nights. No two days are the same. I love seeing my client's face light up when I'm there. For me it's like having an extended family. I feel highly valued & I'm proud to be part of a compassionate Company. I get all excited when I wake up in the morning knowing that today I would have made a difference to my client.

User

Home Instead Senior Care are an amazing company to work for. I initially started with them about 9 years ago as a CAREGiver and now I’m working in the office with a brilliant team. Every member of staff from the Management, to the office staff and of course to the CAREGivers are passionate about providing the best care to our clients. I even have a lovely bunch of our CAREGivers providing care for my Dad, he is very pleased with the support he receives and I feel secure in the knowledge that he is getting the best care there is.

Home Instead Senior Care Stockport is an accomplished, organised and welcoming company to work for; Each and every member of staff regardless of their role within the business ardently plays a part in providing the best care possible. In my experience all care givers consistently go above and beyond when caring for our clients ensuring every client receives personalised and professional care. I've had the pleasure of working in the main office as well as on the field with our many clients, both experiences have been helpful in providing me with a diverse knowledge of care which in turn has assisted me in achieving my professional goals. There are also many events throughout the year which enable care givers, clients and their families to build stronger relationships outside of day-to-day care.

Hello Home Instead Senior Care! I have just completed a weeks training with the company and I can honestly say it is the best employment training I have ever had. Our trainer Kate had planned out the weeks schedule carefully in advance and ensured that it was a good mix of theory, practical and discussion.

I really feel empowered with the knowledge already gained and know that other training opportunities/on going support will be available for us as we develop in our roles. All the staff really made us feel so welcome and couldn't have been friendlier. The other ladies on the course were all lovely and we really jelled as a group and found things in common. We are going to keep in touch to support each other.

I am finally looking forward to a career where I know I can make a difference ! Thank you Home Instead!!

As a retired nurse who has been with Home Instead for just four months, I can honestly say it was the best move I ever made. I was apprehensive that I may be too old to take on a new role and to make a difference but I needn't have worried. From the initial training to the ongoing professional and personal support I have received from every member of the team, I have been encouraged every step of the way.

Home Instead value their staff as much as they value their clients.

As well as the job satisfaction, which is very important to me, I love the flexibility and that every day is different, and that I am given enough time to really get to know my clients so that I am able to give truly personalised care.

I feel proud to be able to say that I am a caregiver for such a fantastic company. I would certainly encourage anyone who is looking for a rewarding role in care to consider Home Instead and I would also highly recommend to anyone who is seeking excellent care for a relative to enable them to remain in their own home for longer.

Thanks to Clare and all at Home Instead for the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.
