I went on a tour of the mosque with Kamal Uddin with about seventy other people and was treated to an very interesting explanation of Islam and how our Muslim neighbours worship and the principles of Islam. An entertaining introduction for us to a different religion and culture. The Imans and other people we met were all so welcoming and friendly that the experience was very enjoyable. Hyde is a small town with different communities but a great sense of togetherness is starting to come from occasions like this and long may it continue

After the success of the mosque tour last January, I'm organising a rerun with Kamal in February this year. Loads of interest again as we try to foster understanding and community cohesion in Hyde.

Innalilahi wa innailaihi rajee unn the janaza of Layla Choudhury Rumi will be tomorrow (27/05/2015) after Zuhr in Hyde Jamia Masjid. If you can attend and make dua that Allah gives her jannatul firdous and ease in her grave, ameen. Jazak Allah khair.
