Emergency preparedness was, until more recent times, something we expected others to take care of and took this for granted.

When ICE - In Case of Emergency was created by Bob Brotchie it was an opportunity to raise awareness of what we can do for ourselves in order for others to help us.

Whether using a mobile for this purpose or another form of media to provide critical next-of-kin data, or health information, providing emergency responders with your ICE details can make the difference between an unconscious casualty lying in hospital alone, sometimes for hours, and their loved one's becoming aware at the earliest opportunity, confirming their identity and any pertinent medical history.

As a direct result of Bob's efforts, many mobile phone manufacturers now make available data fields that can potentially be accessed, in an emergency - and this is wonderful! The relatively new challenge however is addressing the loss of a uniform approach; something that was at the core of Bob's original concept and subsequent campaign. Today, it seems, many emergency responders are unsure how to access the myriad of variations for accessing a patients 'health /ICE' details and as such, may be losing faith in the process.

To overcome this, Bob created a quality ICE app which was available throughout the 2015 /16 ICE Campaign 'It's clear as ICE! ' which allowed the user to create a lock screen, personalised wallpaper that contained ICE details immediately the phone is accessed and regardless of manufacturer or model.
