Equine Centre For Change was set up in 2015 by one of our graduates. Using the IFEEL Method ECFC now supports a variety of clients.
At IFEEL we teach psychological frameworks, assessment and tracking the outcomes of human behaviour change through the delivery of the IFEEL Methodology, on our Ofqual Regulated Level 5 and Level 6 Diplomas. This supports the Equine Facilitated interventions in being clean, authentic and free from false interpretation. We teach the latest in neur...oscience, human development, including attachment theory and Trauma-Informed practice, with cutting edge, evidence-based practices and how that interfaces with equine behavioural science and ethology.

A great day today with Medi-K First Aid Training for Horse Riders refreshing our Emergency First Aid at Work skills. Thank you Ian for managing our 'enthusiastic' group so well. One place has become available on the 2019 Crossfields Institute Level 6 Diploma in Equine Facilitated Psychotraumatology. Starting on the 1st April there is still time for a last minute application (subject to prerequisites being met). This year long training with 5 onsite training modules, distance learning, 1:1 and group supervision with a dedicated mentor is delivered by a qualified and diverse faculty with huge and in-depth experience.

Crossfields Institute Level 6 Diploma in the IFEEL Method of Equine Facilitated Psychotraumatology (EFPT). This is the first and only accredited (SRQ) Level 6 Diploma in Equine Facilitated Psychotraumatology for mental health professionals in the UK for the treatment of adults with Trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex PTSD and includes training for treatment of Mood, Depression, Anxiety and Personality Disorders.
A systematic evidence based approach
This... course will cover the below:
1) Definitions and types CPTSD, PTSD & Trauma. 2) Assessment and formulation of differential diagnosis of CPTSD, PTSD & Trauma. 3) Theory and application of psychotraumalogical frameworks in the context of the neuroscience, dissociation and the psycho-pharmacology of CPTSD, PTSD & Trauma. 4) An evidence based Equine Facilitated Psychotraumatology Model for CPTSD, PTSD & Trauma. 5) Trauma focused resource facilitation skills for safety, stabilisation, regulation and containment of comorbidities: i) Mood disorders ii) Traumatic nightmares iii) Suicide ideation. 6) Understanding equine psychology, behaviour, ethology and welfare. The theoretical considerations of the ethical standards for equines working with humans. 7) Relational horsemanship skills: The tools, techniques and applications of working with horses as co-sentient partners for human development and change. 8) Personal and professional development: Supervision, mentoring, assessment and mapping of facilitator’s own personal and professional development alongside accountability of the ethical considerations of clients. 9) Critical self-reflexive mind-body based practice: developing self-awareness for both clients and facilitators.

IFEEL Qualifications are recognised internationally as the gold standard in Equine Facilitated/Assisted Interventions and Training. We attract individuals from a variety of different backgrounds, from mental health professionals, professional business coaches and consultants, equine professionals, health and well-being practitioners for our accredited and regulated Level 5 and Level 6 Diplomas, with our groundbreaking Level 7 (post grad) Diploma launching in 2020. Our students travel from all over the world to attend training; past students have come from Spain, Austria, Germany, South Africa, USA, Lebanon, England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. The course format works well for those travelling from further afield due to the 4 x 5 days’ onsite blocks with distance learning in-between. The minimum age to attend the course is 21, and we have had students whose ages range from anywhere between 23 to 72 so not age limited! Each cohort has a limited number of places, with no more than 12 students attending.

Today we said goodbye (for now) to our wonderful Programme Director/Faculty Tutor, IQA and Facilitator, Jenny Eichner who, after helping steer our ship for the last 9 years is launching herself into the great and beautiful world of motherhood! Exciting times!!
