Botox and Side Effects
Botox is a quick and effective way of treating wrinkles on the face. The common areas that are treated are the frown lines, forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet and smokers lines. One of the questions or fears that people have regarding the usage of Botox as anti-aging procedure to remove wrinkles is whether injecting Botox is a generally a safe treatment procedure and whether there are any side effects.
Botox is a very safe treatment; there are no permanent side effects from Botox. However depending on the skill and experience of the person injecting you can rarely be left with a less than ideal result. Poor injection technique or injecting excessively high doses can cause drooping of the eyebrow. When this happens it is not permanent and usually wears off from between one to four weeks.
Injecting excessively high doses of Botox can leave some with a “frozen” or startled appearance which is less than ideal. It is better to have a little movement around the frown and forehead which will appear natural.
Botox is not recommended if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Although there have not been any actual reports of harm caused to the unborn child, it is not advisable to have Botox Injections in these cases.
Botox is also used with caution in patients with chronic medical conditions such as Myasthenia Gravis, Eaton Lambert syndrome or those suffering from Bell’s palsy as it may exacerbate or make the symptoms of these diseases more noticeable. If you are suffering from a medical condition and would like to find out whether Botox treatment is advisable, you should talk to a Botox doctor.
Many Botox clinics now offer free consultations for their clients. This is a good way to for you to meet the clinic staff and doctor before deciding on having the treatment. The doctor can go through the different options to ensure Botox is right for you, and they can check your medical history to ensure that it is fine for you to have the procedure.
Injecting Botox is a skilled procedure and should be carried out by a registered and insured medical professional such as a doctor or a nurse. The treatment itself can take around ten to fifteen minutes. After having the treatment you should follow the post procedure advice. This usually entails avoiding alcohol, excessive exercise, sauna’s steam rooms and facials for at least 24 hours.
Finally don’t expect the Botox to work straight away, as it usually takes about four to seven days for the treatment to start working. The effects usually last for an average of three months.
What You Should Know Before Botox Treatments

Botox treatment is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure used to reduce wrinkles in your face. It is one of the most popular and effective anti-aging treatment procedures available. This treatment involves injecting Botox into the desired facial muscles. Pain relief or anaesthesia is not necessary before the procedure because it is not a painful procedure. The pain level will be something similar to a small pin prick.
After having undergone Botox treatment, you will be able to see the results within four to seven days.
Botox treatment is not permanent, and its effect will last for an average of three months. However with regular Botox injections, the treatment can last longer with improved effectiveness.
Botox injections are highly effective in reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles in the upper third of the face.
The treatment usually takes about 10 minutes.
How to Eliminate Frown Lines
What are Frown Lines
Frown lines are completely natural and begin to appear on the face as we age. They are also called glabellar frown lines and they refer to the small lines or creases (or wrinkles) that appear between the eyes as you grow older. Although they are called frown lines, they aren’t necessarily caused by excess frowning and a variety of typical everyday expressions and other lifestyle factors contribute to the problem, alongside the aging of the skin. Frown lines are vertical and are often appear when a person is conveying worry, anxiety, confusion or fear.
As the skin ages it begins to lose elastin and collagen from its cells which are the parts that provide the “elasticity”. When young our skin’s cells are brimming with these substances which enables it to spring back into position good as new, rather like a soft ball. As the elasticity begins to decrease the skin is less able to “spring back” as it once could, and this is the reason that creases and wrinkles start to appear.
Although frown lines begin as fine lines, they do not stay that way if the skin is not properly cared for or the lines are not treated. Repetition of the culpable facial expressions combined with other lifestyle factors cause the lines to deepen and become more prominent. It can be a cause for concern when the lines result in a continuous and ongoing “angry look” that is commented on by friends and family.
Frown lines can be successfully treated with Botox wrinkle treatment at Bo -eautful, the cost of frown line treatment is £150 and the effects can last for up to three months. Dermal fillers are used for facial aesthetic treatments and are injected into the skin. They are designed to effectively reduce the appearance of unwanted wrinkles, contour and create volume, and to revitalise the skin. Dermal fillers are based on Hyaluronic acid which is a substance that naturally exists in your body. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that exists naturally in almost all living organisms. It binds water and can act as a lubricant and shock absorber in movable parts of the body such as joints. It is also important for the transport of nutrients and in regulating water balance in skin.
Dermal fillers work by boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers revitalise and add volume to the skin, instantly diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and giving a natural softer look. Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel consisting of stabilized, non-animal hyaluronic acid. The gel is tissue-friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. It is long-lasting but not permanent.
Dermal filler injections provide an easy way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, smooth the skin and give a more youthful appearance. The result of a single treatment can be seen instantly and can last for around 6 to 9 months. Dermal filler injections can give a natural looking result that does not affect facial expression. As your face changes over time, dermal fillers allow you to control you looks subtly as you age.
Dermal fillers can be used to smooth away facial lines and wrinkles, create fuller lips and shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, and revitalise the skin.
The most common areas treated are:
• Nose to mouth lines (the nasolabial folds)
• between the eyebrows (the glabella lines)
• lips (adding volume and shape)
Lip enhancement with Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers can be used to enhance the lips giving fuller, more shapely and defined lips. The lips can be enhanced by:
Creating more lip volume
Dermal fillers can be used to add volume to thin lips, giving a fuller appearance.
Defining the lip line
Dermal fillers can be injected along borders of the lips and into the cupids bow to accentuate the lip line giving a more shapely and youthful appearance.
Correcting marionette lines
Marionette lines are lines that are present just below the corners of the mouth and occur with loss of volume associated with ageing. They can give the appearance of pulling the mouth downwards giving a sad and unhappy facial expression. Dermal filler can be injected just below the corner of the mouth to soften these lines by adding volume to the area and giving shape to the lips.

You pay for what you get and that's knowledge, experience and professionalism.
