Spent a few days last week with Col climbing in North Wales. I learnt more in a few days than I have my entire time climbing. He was also extremely knowledgeable of the surrounding area and even gave me a wicked route up Llanberis on my bike. If you are thinking of taking up mountaineering I cannot recommend Col enough! A credit to the mountaineering community and an all round awesome guy!

I’m friends with Col Kingshott and have been out gaining experience on Winter Quality Mountain Days in Scotland last season. A sound instructor paying attention to detail and allowing self discovery in learning. I plan to get back out training above the snow line with him this season. A keen Mountaineering Instructor who I would definitely recommend.

I was lucky enough to spend the week climbing in Wales with Col. Thanks to him I seconded my first E1 single pitch and my first multi pitch.

He’s expertise is second to none.

I highly recommend that you give his company a try

I was lucky enough to be able to book Colin to guide/teach myself and my daughter on two days of climbing.



My daughter is 11 years old and suffers from social anxiety. I thought climbing together would help build her confidence as well as being fun. The weekend did not disappoint. From the off Colin made us feel at ease. He explained everything clearly, repeating/re-showing anything we requested.



It’s clear from the way he teaches that Colin is very passionate about the sport. He takes safety and good practice to another level. At no point did I worry about myself or my daughter as Colin’s safety awareness was always of a high standard.



We truly had a brilliant weekend accomplishing things we never thought we would. My little girl enjoyed it so much she wants to go again next year. I do believe it brought her out of her shell a bit.



Not only did we learn new skills we saw some amazing views that will stay with us forever.

I got my introduction to Winter Climbing from Col. Absolutely honking weather in Scotland in January, but we got up, down and back safe and even had a bit of fun (type 2) and learning in between. Impeccably safe and his knowledge of all things mountain related is staggering. I've since followed him up bigger mountains and would recommend his services to anyone.

Great ML, Col has some very valuable previous career experience which places him right at the forefront of navigation and facilitating expeditions. He has a great sense of humour which is nearly at the same level as my very own and is able to work in a diverse range of climates and conditions. Reliable, qualified, passionate and supportive guide for all things Outdoor Adventure!!

Exceptional instructor. Clearly has a passion for his work and can’t recommend enough!

Col finally convinced me to take me out and took me for my first climb. An excellent location (Milestone Buttress). His knowledge of the outdoors is phenomenal, he keeps you interested every step of the way. He tailored the climb to meet my every need and goals that I wanted to achieve that day. He has a natural calming influence even when I thought I was in a tricky situation (I’m scared of heights). The day was superb and I can’t recommend him enough. No matter what your age, skill or ability he’ll cater for you. He’s a genuine nice human being who will honestly go out of his way to help you.
