User

Darker start to the day with small chance of rain, some nice fish landed yesterday using Montana variants and boobies all on intermediate lines

User

Landlord of Ladybower inn and his son standing proud with their 5lb rainbow caught using a Montana fly

User

Cooler start today, most fish caught yesterday weren’t as deep as they have been at about 15 to 20 feet, so you might get away with floating lines with long leaders

User

Flys made by will one of our volunteers

User

Might have to put trousers on today rather than shorts, but being overcast it will bring the fish up, but still use sinking or intermediate

User

Well done yesterday to Tom Harrison from nomads for the rescue of this lamb from the reservoir, and no we didn’t weigh it in

User

Morning fisher folk, not too bad a start to the day, according to some folk yesterday, fish were being caught using “anything at the right depth” Make if that what you will, water at the moment seems warm at the surface, so intermediate lines starting at around 5 feet

User

Prices... start at £75 per 4 hour instructed sessions on board the boat.
No FlyFishing experience is required and all equipment can be provided for the session.
Please ring the fisheries office on 01433659712 with any special requirements and book your trip around the iconic Ladybower Reservoir with the beautiful landscape of the Peak District whilst learning a new sport by boat.
Disabled access, parking and toilet facilities are available on site.

If you fancy popping over here tomorrow, we have a few boats left, weather looks nice for it

User

Lofty, stock some of these mate. 😀🐟🐟🐟🐟

User

Morning fisher folk, slightly grey start to the day, but warm.... yesterday fish were being as deep as 20 feet with a few around 5 to 10 feet most of them caught on intermediate lines. So today I’d still suggest intermediate lines using boobies

User

Ladybower Veteran Isaac Slack with his awards and raffle prizes after England Youth won Silver! We're proud of you young man! 👍👍👍

User

We have had a couple of customers come in today saying the have heard rumours that we are closed due to low water levels, this is certainly not the case, we are open from 0730 hrs every day. So please ignore any rumours of being closed.

User

Cloudy start today, there was a lot of success using various coloured boobies yesterday, some fish taken close in to the shore. You might get away using floating lines today

User

If you are looking for something to do with the kids this summer holiday why not try your hand at fly fishing here at Ladybower. Tuition prices start at £49 please ring the fisheries office on telephone number 01433659712 for more information and book a great day out

User

Today we have have a group of 10 to 15 yo trying out fly fishing for the first time, Joseph, Andrew and Will with their first catch...... caught using green boobies close to shore

User

Morning fisher folk, although it’s slightly cloudy, it’s still warm at around 15c at moment. While preparing boats this morning we have seen fish rising near bank. That said there was some success yesterday with diawl Bach on floating lines

User

Look at this fisher folk.... another successful landing, maybe a nice 2 lb stocky.... dare I say it’s almost perfect conditions here

User

Every time Iv been it's been wild but I prefer it when conditions make you think about your approach. Iv caught some beautiful trout and these fish in here don't half scrap. All the staff in the lodge are very friendly and approachable and offer their input on methods. I'd recommend this venue to proper fly fisherman

User

I'm still learning with this year being my second full year fly fishing.

The Ladybower team have been a great help and improved my fishing and catch rates throughout this season.

Great fishing surrounded by beautiful scenery with Rainbows and Blue trout hard fighting fish stocked on a regular basis ranging from a few pounds to over 15 pounds and wild brown trout to fish for.

A very friendly and helpful fishery

User

Had a good days fishing,Topping fish in the afternoon were particularly exiting, they were not always easy to spot in the ripple but the rewards were great with fast and furious takes on the drys.Daddy longlegs did it for me.2 fish out . 1 fish off . Numerous missed chances.

All in all a good day out.

User

Had a fantastic day out on a boat, lost a couple of fish but that didn't spoil the day and the staff are brilliant, very helpful and friendly.

User

Great time last Saturday as newbie to fly fishing. Friendly welcome by Geoff, Lofty, Gordon, Phil. Had two free tuition sessions, one with Geoff then Alex (Orvis instructor) from the Bakewell fly fishing centre and spent an enjoyable 3 hours practical theory and casting techniques. Everyone more than willing to assist and share advice. Can't thank them all enough for their help and enthusiasm. Looking forward to going back as often as I can, to eventually catch something. Cheers chaps. ;-)

User

Great day at Ladybower. Friendly staff and a good quality boat with motor. Caught some hard fighting fish. Beautiful scenery and all at a very fair price. I'll be back soon.

User

Fishing it's socks off at the moment. Credit to Geoff and the boys for a well run fishery. The effort that goes into making this a great fishery is above and beyond.

The results of all the hard graft and dog days of summer are paying off.

There have been many doubters (including myself) but credit must go to the team.

Geoff and the boys are putting the customer first and hopefully the public will respond accordingly. The fish are certainly in a cooperative mood.

Give it a try. Best chance of a double figure fish around here without paying exorbitant prices.

User

Fantastic fishery, helpful staff, and brilliant scenery! Thanks to Jeff, Jake, Lofty and Lee for all the help this weekend

User

Fantastic fishery first time there this year two over 8lbs plus two around 2lbe plus 2 Browns over 2lbs very helpful staff fantastic scenery as well will be back soon. Ian brearley

User

Fantastic day out today for 6 new to fly fishing 4 under 16 year olds. The free Training was faultless with easy to under stand instructions. We hired 6 rods a boat and all equipment required were all top quality. With 6 new to fly fishing 4 of us cought our first ever fish. 3 from shore and 1 from the boat.

All of us had a fantastic day out and would highly recommend Ladybower Fisheries. 😁👍

User

Excellent first day back! Hope the good fishing continues through the season. Lots out around the 5lb mark and a 14.1lb caught from the bank

User

Brilliant days fishing at Ladybower today sharing a boat with my buddy Lyn. We had 20 between us, mainly drifting across the main basin. I fished a midge tip, washing line style with an orange fab on the point which took a few. Most fish fell to an okey dokey buzzer on the middle dropper. Best days fishing I've had in a long time.

User

Beautiful water with lots of fish rising today. Staff are helpful and boats are well maintained.
