We are happy to announce the lucky winners of our cuddly Red Pandas were Liz and Joshua. The Red Pandas were hiding in squares 14 and 38. Thank you to all who have supported our fundraising efforts for the Red Panda Network. We have raised over £1100 for Red Pandas through our walk up Skiddaw, mask making and the raffle. Thank you for your support in helping to protect these endangered animals. #golakes #redpandanetwork #visitkeswickthelakedistrict #conservation #visitcumbria

So here is a video from the summit of Skiddaw on Monday during our Red Panda Romp fundraising walk. It was a little bit wet and windy to say the least - what a challenge - but we made it! Thank you to those who have donated money, which goes to the Red Panda Network. Once we have had a final count up we will let you know how much we have raised. If you would like to make a donation to help conserve these amazing animals the link is https://www.justgiving.com/fundraisi…/l aurenlucyredpandaromp #golakes #visitcumbriathelakedistrict #redpandanetwork

Lauren our Carnivore Keeper, took me (Lucy) to meet Charu one of our Red Pandas to promote our fundraising walk. We will be dressed as Red Pandas, as shown in the pics when we take on Skiddaw (931 metres) on Monday. It is estimated there are only around 2500 of these lovely creatures left in the wild, so we want to help them. #redpandanetwork #golakes #visitkeswickthelakedistrict #cumbriacrack #radiocumbria Our just giving page is: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraisi…/l aurenlucyredpandaromp

Random Request! Is there any of our regular members out there with an artistic flare? We are looking to revamp some of the enrichment areas in our enclosures. We have lots of ideas but need to put them down on paper as a sketch. This would involve a discussion over a free lunch of what we have in mind. If you think you can help and have a few hours of your time to volunteer please get in touch!!

On Monday we will start all of our Red Panda Ranger fun. User

It is estimated that there may be around only 2,500 Red Pandas left in the wild. Lauren and Lucy are raising money for the Red Panda Network by taking on the challenge of walking up Skiddaw dressed as Red Pandas on the 27th August. Please support us! #golakes #visitkeswickthelakedistrict #redpandanetwork

There is a suggested small donation to join in or simply just come along and have a look at our displays and learn more about these clever and interesting animals.

What a fantastic day we have had celebrating World Snake Day. Hear all about it and see Urma our Burmese Python on ITV Border News tonight. Our display will be up for a couple more weeks and we have information to give away about our native reptiles and amphibians thanks to #Amphibianandreptileconservation Our Reptile Encounters are held every day throughout the summer. #Worldsnakeday #cumbriacrack #visitkeswickthelakedistrict #golakes #ITVbordernews

Meet our baby Rhea, he is absolutely tiny compared to his mum and still a bundle of fluffy feathers! We think he is adorable. #golakes #visitkeswickthelakedistrict

User

loved it was great to see a lot of the animals close up and the café and girls in there were brilliant food was great filled me up and I'm a fat git lol keep up the good work

User

Wonderful experience. Loved every minute. All the animals are so well cared for and clearly very contented living in environments specific to their various natural habitats.

The keepers were energetic, enthusiastic and very informative. I liked the emphasis on protection of endangered species which was evident throughout the zoo. We have never seen Red Pandas before and they stole our hearts.

This wildlife park sets very high standards which I hope will be emulated everywhere.

User

What a fabulous wildlife park, the highlight for us had to be the birds of prey talk-the keeper was hilarious and very passionate and knowledgeable. Also the talk on the otters and red pandas was equally as fantastic. A really lovely day out lots to see. Thank you.

User

We visited on a rainy April day but the rain didn’t stop us having a brilliant time. My 9 year old had the keeper experience for his birthday...he said it was the best day of his life! He met and fed meerkats and lemurs and groomed the tapirs. A wonderful experience. The animals were all lovely and we particularly enjoyed the birds of prey talk - the keeper who did the talk should be on the comedy stage! Thank you for a wonderful time!

User

We had a brilliant day out here the other day for my daughters 1st Birthday. Lots of different animals to see, play areas and a soft play inside. Very reasonably priced too. We especially enjoyed John and his bird of prey talk. We will be back!

User

We did the keeper experience which was a great price £40 which includes entry. One hour in with 3 different animals shame over 16 my two girls would have love it however the keeper made them feel as though they where part of it feeding the meerkats and help carry the bucket of food for the leamers. Thank you for a great day x we alk loved the bird of prey shown x the kids loved making masks, meeting the bunny and ginepig too.

User

Visited today with our 8yr old, loved every minute of our visit, great animals, friendly knowledgeable staff, I particularly enjoyed the bird display, a great day out.

User

Visited today loved it. Enjoyed the park with all the animals. My daughter who's 5 loved the soft play & the outside park even though it was a bit wet and muddy. Enjoyed the Guinie pig handling & we enjoyed the owl show both colleagues on these where very informative and great. We went to the cafe & found it to be ok we only had 1 portion of chips and cheese these where about £3.80 a portion. Next table had jacket potatoes which looked rather nice.. nice picnic areas for if the weather is nice. If in the area Deffo worth a trip.

User

Totally recommend this wildlife park! Especially rick who did the bird show - he was informative and hilarious and clearly cared for animals that he’s cared for from birth! He also helped us with his tractor to get our car out a bit of mud- thankyou lots to do and lots to see and the cafe and soft play area were great too!! Cannot wait to return in the summer!!

User

Took my 8 year old daughter yesterday she had the experience really couldn't fault it I had one happy little girl at the end of the day. I will definitely be back again soon.

User

This park is amazing. Firstly we arrived and were pleasantly surprised with how cheap the entry prices were, we were given a timetable of the events happening throughout the day and paid a mere 50p for a map. The park is not that large but the animals that are there are obviously well looked after and are in great condition. We got up close with the meerkats, alpacas, goats and donkeys but all the animals were very close and easily viewable.

We also went to view the reptile showing where we got to stroke a milk snake! We had a lovely walk around and also caught the lynxes being fed and were told that we were lucky as Kai was being particularly brave.

After we had walked around the whole park (around 2 hours) we decided to eat lunch at the cafe. Oh my god what great value for money! The portions were huge and the food was very fresh and tasty. Prices were VERY reasonable.

This was a great day out and we were just 2 adults, I can see this being a great day out for a family as the animals are so up close and the staff are all so friendly. What a lovely find.

User

Lovely park with some fantastic animals.

Great place to spend an afternoon. Frequent talks and displays with some allowing you to get very close to or handle animals.

Keepers all happy to answer questions and very welcoming.

Animals well cared for and a nice variety of species.

Will certainly be returning :)

User

Loved the park been coming here for years since the children were young and as an adult still enjoyed it. Interactive talks going on all day. Small cafe on site too

User

I have issues with so many wildlife parks and zoo's due to poor standards of animal care. This place does not have that problem. The animals have space which reflects their natural environment, with the use of a natural river, trees, ponds etc to allow for as natural a habitat as possible. I generally find mistakes during staff talks about animals at places like this, but again the lake district wildlife Park staff taught me new material and really seem to understand and value the animals in their care. Highly recommend this place, especially to people like me whose friends refuse to visit animal based attractions in fear that I will ask to speak to management and point out problems.

User

Had a great day here yesterday. All staff are friendly and helpful. Especially enjoyed the birds of prey display, the guy who done it was extremely informative and funny, just disappointed I couldn't hear much as there was no microphone. This guy really loves his job and even when wandering around the park doing his jobs he would interact with the visitors giving lots of information without being prompted, he is fantastic!

Prices are reasonable and you can even take your own picnic.

All animals look to be well looked after and cared for.

Good, reasonably priced day. Will definitely be back.

User

Had a fantastic day for my sons birthday... extremely accommodating for a birthday party of 11 kids!! Party food was fab staff were great! Kids loved every minute! Especially the mini beasts encounter, the keeper was great with the kids and made my son feel very important on his birthday, involving him with the creatures and allowing us all to hold them!! AMAZING day had by all!!

User
