User

We had booked a table for afternoon tea for my daughters 1st birthday today. The staff were so lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. The decorations looked brilliant and all our guest had a brilliant time. Thank you so much we will definitely be back love this place.

User

The cakes are awesome here and complement the super coffee.

Other items are available on the menu but the cakes get me everytime!

User

I have my own tearoom and love coming here on my days off. Been here a few times once for afternoon tea and I have enjoyed the food and service every time. It's in lovely surroundings. Really friendly staff, who work very hard. Fab place!

User

Had the luxury afternoon tea yesterday as a treat for my mums Christmas present.........both really enjoyed it. Great value for money and took loads of cake home too, was glad of the recommendation Also had a children’s afternoon tea for my daughter but there was plenty on there for my toddler to eat too. Fed the greedy ducks afterwards too, great couple of hours out........looking forward to coming again

User

Had afternoon tea with Santa on Friday and it was perfect. So much better than we had hoped. The boys presents were lovely, they got to spend lots of time with santa (who looked amazing) and the food was perfect especially for the kids! I was trying to swap with my nephew his looked so good

User

User

Afternoon tea for 2 for my birthday today. Fabulous, best I've had. Lovely staff, good food, what more could anyone ask for x

User

A lovely setting with lovely cakes and coffee. Very busy but the staff coped really well. I'd won a Facebook competition for a coffee and cake and I had latte with coffee and walnut cake. Was really good. Will definitely recommend and will be back. Thanks

User

Lake & ducks were nice, we saw shetlands, donkeys & several types of chickens.

Friendly helpful staff which is what you want.

I’m not normally a soup person but the butternut squash & chilli soup with a sandwich wars nice & filling. My mum doesn’t like spicy food but she enjoyed the soup. It was tasty but not too spicy.

It’s a great place to take the kids for a couple of hours but I’d recommend it in good weather.

User

Booked afternoon tea for my birthday- good service and nice food and we were able to take away what we could not finish. Very accommodating with dietary requirements

User

Was disappointed today to be honest. Yes it's good Friday and it was very busy but we had booked a table for 12.30 so to be told there was a half hr wait for food was a let down as we had 3 children with us. We ordered a kids lunchbox, cheese on toast, a toasted teacake and some toast and jam, nothing that was any effort at all really. The cheese sandwich for the lunchbox came out after the crisps and drink had been devoured, the toast came and needed to be sent back as it was barely toasted, as did the teacake. One lot of cheese on toast came followed by the other 5 mins later. Not one of us got served food at the same time which isn't good when we had kids waiting to eat and had booked to have lunch together. I appreciate everyone was working very hard but it did spoil lunch for us today sadly.

User

Very busy and understaffed, shame as it is a nice place. Would come again but probably not on a weekend!

User

Location was lovely. I had travelled up from Runcorn in Cheshire to meet my friend for afternoon tea......luxury afternoon at that.

Very squashed looking cakes....poorly presented.

Poor service as we had to prompt for napkins, plates and coffee.. ....

Then we had to ask for the clotted cream. Told that we could have 20% off as we had had to wait due to it being busy!

Disappointing as I had travelled so far.

User

It's just "ok". Busy, dirty tables everywhere, salad ,"warm", food just about average and over priced.

I guess it would pay you to empty an extra member of staff for the price of a single jacket potato an hour to ensure a better all round service.

Pleasant staff, but very under pressure.

User

Disappointing visit today as a post xmas treat. Rang about 10 ish to book for 12 in case it was busy. Arrived to find we couldn't get at the table that had been reserved due to prams at the next table but there was another table free so used that. Ordered hot drinks and sat down to choose food. Choose food to be told on ordering no chicken no pork and no chips or wedges available. Could have turkey instead of chicken. Understand its the first day after the break but deliveries should of been ordered to accommodate this.

User

We visited Charnock Farm lakeside cafe today for some lunch. Unfortunately, everything my husband and I asked for the cafe had nothing available on the menu! No Hot Baguettes, no Paninis & no Chicken Tikka. Only toasties available on a busy Sunday lunch!! When the food arrived items were missing from the plate and the BLT was poorly made. Bread was over cooked, two slices of fatty bacon, quarter tomatoes, not even sliced and some limp lettuce. Times like this you wish you’d stayed home and made your own for half the price and better quality. Lakeside cafe you are really letting yourself down, you could be a booming business, if you used some forward thinking and had a your fridge and stores stocked ready for your customers.
