Go along to the Repair Cafe each month to tackle your mending pile and help reduce waste! Bring along your electronics, bikes, textiles, clothes, etc for mending assistance. In most cases a team of knowledgable volunteers will give you directions and assistance in helping you do the repair work. In some instances the volunteer might do it for you.
Please consider making a donation to the repair cafe or volunteers who assist you - these donations help keep us running! If any n...ew parts or materials are required, you will be responsible for the cost.
- Tech support (phones, computers, etc) - Small household electronic repair - Textiles, clothing (darning, mending by hand and machine) - Bike (tuneup and cleanup, advice and quotes for more extensive work)

Well this is beautiful! A sculptor has created a 6ft-tall (1.8m) statue of an angel entirely from driftwood. Exeter-based artist Brendan Rawlings created the piece to help fundraise for the @RNLI charity. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dev on-51473389
... #ChooseToReuse #Upcycle
The sculpture, hewed mostly from an old railway sleeper, weighs nearly 13 stone (80kg) and took a week to make.
Mr Rawlings plans to tour the angel around beaches in Devon and Cornwall, where he collects the wood, starting in Exmouth on 29 February.
He said he was inspired to create the sculpture after recalling a painting of an angel he had forgotten about for nearly a decade.
"I was just lying in bed one night and it popped into my head... I thought that would look amazing in driftwood.
"You can use the natural form of the wood, once you've sliced [the driftwood] it looks like a feather," said Mr Rawlings, who runs the Zen Wood Design company.

This event is for community repair activists to gather, learn from each other and build a movement together. We have a limited number of places, reserved first for community repair activists.

The very amazing @elvisandkresse rescue waste fire hoses and make beautiful bags from them. Not only do they repurpose a huge amount of waste - keeping it out of landfills and incinerators but they also donate 50% of profits back to The Fire Fighters charity!
Just wonderful.

How cute are these minature pubs for hedgehogs!
If you can't get your hands on one of these mini pubs available via @CamdenBrewery you can support @HedgehogSociety in lots of other ways #BritishHedgehogPreservationSociety
.. . ‘Hedgehog populations have declined by half in rural areas and by a third in urban ones in the last 20 years so they need all the help they can get. The funds and awareness that this collaboration raises will help us, help hedgehogs.’

Are your old jeans past being worn? No need to bin them! Denim is really tough fabric and can be easily repurposed. Not arty or crafty? then be sure to pass on unwanted things so someone else can get creative http://ow.ly/DbOu30nyjdj #upcycle #reuse #fashion

Isn't it amazing what can be made from waste! Flip-flops proved to be an invaluable resource in this boat’s construction. The colorful craft is 9 meters in length and is made of more than 10 tons of plastic waste!
