Loving this cake made by Pink Fluff Cakes. Brings a smile to my face just looking at it! #RainbowCamperHire

User

At last some warmer weather this week. A beautiful sunny morning with fog hanging in the valley, and Skiddaw bathed in sunshine.

User

Daisy and Jess from Rainbow Camper Hire came to visit on Saturday with the cake for their 10th Birthday celebrations. We always look forward to their colourful VW campervans coming to stay on the campsite. #RainbowCamperHire #thelakedistrict

Walk up Catbells on a misty morning. Very atmospheric! As we came down the mist lifted, and we had a good view of the top.

Frosty morning walk through the village

We have had some glorious days this January. These photos were taken on a recent walk up and over Barrow, from Lanefoot Farm. #Thornthwaite #Braithwaite #Keswick #theplacetobe

It is a little late, but Happy New Year! to everyone. Time just seems to be flying. We have been out and about since closing in November. Between Christmas and New Year we walked around Buttermere in the rain, before having a superb meal at The Bridge Hotel. The Bridge Hotel #buttermere #lakedistrict

Amazed to have the summit of Seat Howe to myself on Sunday morning. Walked up from Lanefoot Farm through Whinlatter Forest. First photo is taken from top of Seat Howe, the second is 'Bob's Seat', the third is a view of Grisedale Pike from 'Bob's Seat', and the forth is looking over Lanefoot Farm to Derwentwater beyond. #Whinlatter #Thornthwaite #Keswick

User

Mist filled the valley this morning, completely covering Keswick. The campsite disappeared in the mist too! These photos were taken from Braithwaite Howe, a short walk from Lanefoot Farm. #Thornthwaite #Braithwaite #Keswick #thelakedistrict

With so many hedges to cut, we need something a bit bigger than a hand held hedge trimmer!

User

had another lovely two night stay (shouldve been 3) strong winds forecast forced us to cut short our stay!! very clean well run campsite, allow campfires, lovely and peaceful, will return!! thank you

User

Would highly recommend this campsite. We stayed for 2 nights in a pod for my 40th birthday. My husband asked for some flowers and a specific bottle of wine and a banner to be put in the pod for our arrival. All of this was done with balloons too...nothing was too much trouble. Also it's a perfect location for exploring The Lakes.

User

We stayed in the Shepherds Hut, nicer and bigger than we expected, 2 electric sockets, shelving above the bed and small window was great, a little heater is provided, not that we needed it. The bed was comfortable with space underneath to put your bags out if the way.

Within the grassed area infront there was enough space for a medium sized gazebo.

A fire pit, some BBQ tools and 2 plastic chairs were also provided, which we thought was a nice touch.

The facilities on site are few, but they are clean and in good working order. The owners are lovely. The chickens are funny when they come and have a nosey at you while your eating your breakfast!

Just a shame we couldn't stay for longer. Would love to go back sometime.

User

We love this place. We have been for the past four years, the owners are so helpful. I had to be hospitalised during our stay a couple of years ago.. My baby decided that he wanted to arrive 2 months early whilst we were camping!! Gareth ( the campsite owner) drove in front of us to show us where the nearest hospital was.. Lane foot farm will always have a special place in our hearts. We have 2 boys, and our holidays are always brilliant here, the boys play to their hearts content. And there is ample walking right on the doorstep. Keswick isn't too far away for a nice stroll round. The facilities are always clean, and have been added to every time we have been. I can't fault this place! Keep up the good work!! xx

User

We have just come back from Lanefoot after 10 days holiday. We have been going to Lanefoot for about 6 years now. We love it. Gareth and Helen are brilliant nothing is to much trouble. Nice to see the boys and how much they have grown since last year. Roll on February when I can book next years holiday.

Thanks for the stay Gareth and Helen, looking forward to seeing you both next year. Shirley and Ian

This is the third time we have stayed at this site, first time in a tent, second time last year in a trailer tent with a two year old and this year in a Dandy and a three year old. Our daughter loves seeing all the farm animals and the owner made sure we had a pitch in a different part of the site, close enough to all the amenities that Keswick and the Lakes offer but still feels rural. We will be back again and again!! Next time we will find that damned Gruffalo!! 😂

User

This is a perfect spot to stop at whilst exploring the Lakes. Came here for the first time for a few nights with a tent and will definitely recommend it to others. Very clean facilities, nice hot showers and a pleasant shop for all your basic needs. Would happily stay here again!!

User

The most beautiful & peaceful site to spend quality time with stunning views from the tent. Staff are the best, very friendly and always available to answer any queries. We've had some amazing walks and lakes views thanks to Gareth and Helen's advise. Children loved it too :) and had fun time caramelising marshmallows over the campfire. Thank you for making this place as amazing as it is, we've enjoyed every second of it. We're already booking our next adventure here xx

User

Stayed in lanefoot farm for five days and loved every minute! Everyone was so helpful and friendly! Would definitely recommend and will be back in a few months :)

User

Stayed at Lanefoot Campsite for the first time Sunday 16th July ... I was up in the area Mountain Biking and the site was spot on for what I needed, the owner was friendly and welcoming, explaining where everything was. The toilets and showers were clean and hot water a plenty. There was a shop on site but I didn't need to use it. the site was busy but not overcrowded and there were no problems with any noise and I managed a great nights sleep. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area and I will be back and hopefully take the family next time. Cheers :)

User

Lovely site. Had a great time with the family. Nice to be able to have a log fire too.

User

Just back from a weekend in the Shepherds hut. Loved it. Camping without a tent and with toilets and showers close by. Also the location is great, out in the countryside without being too isolated and near enough to keswick. Thank you

User

I just came back from a brief impromptu visit. I loved the site, the location is great and Helen was super helpful after i foolishly got my car stuck, she had warned me about how wet the ground was given the recent rain and snow, and I got caught out.

The only reason i cut my visit short was because I hurt my back in the process of freeing my car but I hope to go back sometime soon.

User

Had a lovely time at Lanefoot Campsite from the 31st July for 2 nights. Campsite clean and tidy, good basic facilities, and a great shop. Best of all they allow campfires which really makes a great camping experience. Thanks for a lovely stay.

User

Great location, and very clean facilities. Lovely warm and friendly welcome at the farm. We stayed in a pod, and would definitely go back again. Walking distance to dog friendly pubs with great food and great ales. Short drive to the town and lakes. Will definitely stay at the site again when we are in the area

User

Been visiting this site for years and we love it. Location is superb, facility great and always clean.

Just visited for two days in a pod and again it has not disappointed........ Bit different without the summer crowds though.

Highly recommend........ Will be back in August

User

The site is full of character. Chickens pop in to your tent for breakfast! Although there was no play area for the kids, on a working farm there is plenty to entertain them. My youngest spent hours throwing a ball for the two young border collies. There weren't many toilets or showers but what they had were clean. Take a towel to the toilet however as there are no hand driers, a fact that I kept forgetting! The weather had been quite wet before we arrived and while we were there we had a few down pours, this made our field very boggy. We were on the lowest field of the campsite so unfortunately seemed to receive all the water draining off the hills. Apart for this our stay was great. The location is very central to the Northern lakes making it perfect for site seeing.

User

Just been to Lanefoot Farm for a fortnight and enjoyed it a lot. Great location - 5 minutes to Keswick, on a bus route, Middle Ruddings (excellent ales and friendly welcome) 10mins walk away and The Royal Oak Pub a short walk further, also very nice. Lots of walks close by around Bassingthwaite, Buttermere. Amenities basic but just what you need, onsite shop, showers, toilets. Everyone friendly and owner very helpful and amenable. Best thing - you are allowed to have an open fire in wheel rim provided by campsite and fire wood etc. all available from onsite shop. BBQ's nearly every night. Proper camping.
