Languages Made 4 U teaching under licence with La Jolie Ronde offers French and Spanish tuitions to young children, GCSE and A Level students and adults.

My name is Nadine Merciere. I am a French native speaker and I have been living in England for 8 years. My husband who is also a French native speaker and I obtained our PGCE at the University of Bristol. When my husband was offered a job as a French teacher at Pleckgate High School we moved to Blackburn in july 2007. As I did not find a permanent position in a secondary school I started working as a supply teacher of French and Spanish from 2007 to 2012 in various secondary schools in East Lancashire and Greater Manchester area and looking for a permanent teaching job at the same time. But unfortunately the ideal permanent teaching position never came and found that not a lot of teenagers were interested in learning a foreign language and I did not feel very useful to them! So after the birth of my daughter I thought about how I could really help people who really wanted to learn languages and private tuitions became the obvious choice for me as it would enable me to give tuitions tailored specifically to the students needs and have time to look after my daughter as well. So I founded Languages Made 4 U in January 2012 with a view to offer French and Spanish to all age groups (from nursery to adults). As I qualified as a secondary French and Spanish teacher I felt comfortable teaching GCSE and A Level students and adults but didn't have much experience with younger children. Then I discovered La Jolie Ronde , the UK's leading language provider, its materials are used in thousands of primary school and nurseries to introduce young children to their first modern foreign language. My daughter is five years old now. As soon as she was born she was introduced to the English and French language and she is now completely fluent in both languages! Watching my daughter understanding and speaking two languages at the same time with ease I became convinced that learning a language is much easier when you are young! So I decided to enrol for La Jolie Ronde structured course training and started working as a tutor in 3 nurseries in Clitheroe, Barrow and Whalley. I became a licensee in January 2013 and I am currently running French and Spanish classes in 6 nurseries: Bright Futures Nursery in Clitheroe, FCCC in Barrow, FCCC in Whalley, Newlands Nursery in Fulwood, Educare in Brockhole village and Hearts and Minds Nursery Euxton. On top of the nursery classes I have been running a French after school club with La Jolie Ronde in All Saints Primary school in Clayton-Le-Moors from Wednesday to Friday. I love working with children and La Jolie Ronde classes are full of fun activities ( songs, rhymes, action chant, games, arts and crafts and stories) and I am constantly amazed to see how fast and easily they learn a foreign language! My daughter started Primary School last September and I was a bit worried, I didn't know how she would handle learning to read and write in English but she did it and with disconcerting facility! My business is growing and what I like about it is that I can teach to a very wide age group so I'm not doing the same thing all the time. In addition to my nursery and primary classes I have been working with GCSE and A Level students from various schools in the Blackburn and Clitheroe area. And I'm proud to say that most of them obtained an A in their French exams! I have also been working with adults who wanted to learn French because of their job or because they wanted to move to France or because their partner was a French native speaker.

At the moment I run my one to one tuition in either in my house or in my student's house but my aim is to open my own language school office where I would be able to run my one to one tuitions and group French and Spanish lessons.
