Thank you to Karen Gibson- Coles and everyone at Dovedale Primary School PTA for their kindness and generosity. The team held a cake sale and used the proceeds to buy a gift for every baby and a tin of biscuits for every family on the Neonatal Unit.
Karen's son Oliver , who was born at 24 weeks gestation and is now 8 yrs old, came with his Nan and Dad Richard to deliver the goodies on Christmas Eve. Thank you once again to everyone involved, our babies and their families were very grateful.

A message from our midwives, nurses, and doctors. Liverpool Women’s is NOT closing – we want to make our services even better for the future but we need to change. Doctors, midwives, and nurses from Liverpool and other areas of the country support the need for change and our preferred option for the long-term future is to build a new Liverpool Women’s Hospital in the city that has better access to other specialists and services. Yesterday I was on the gynaecology ward for a small operation, and all of the staff from the minute of entering the reception on the ward were amazing, right throughout the day. It was a very long day of waiting, but feel I need to praise ALL of the staff for how hard they work, they don't stop all day literally, and aren't given enough credit for it. Theatre staff were so friendly and lovely which is a big comfort when you're nervous and anxious, followed by the lovely recovery nurse who looked after me before going to the ward, and then the nurses on the ward, who also do an amazing job. Thank you to everyone on the gynaecology ward for looking after me so well, you're all diamond's xx

User

The most amazing hospital! I was emergency transferred almost 3 years ago and spent 3 months here with my twin boys. Couldn’t fault anything, the staff are incredible, hospital is amazing and this hospital will always hold a piece of my heart.

User

Such a fantastic hospital with amazing staff. My baby boy was born there on 30.3.18 and the care I received was excellent. A massive thank you to midwives Clara and Eve, along with Dr Mark CJ and the rest of the team on the delivery suite for helping to deliver our baby safely in what was a difficult delivery. I would highly recommend the hospital. Many thanks

User

I've just had surgery here on 25th April...my gynae was dr George botros and he was fantastic,he managed to do my surgery all through key hole even when my tumour was bigger than expected.i've had my 3 pregnancy's also under this hospital,1 happy and 2 sad (unfortunately loses) but nothing that was ever down to the hospital it was just being down to unlucky.i would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone, you will definitely get great care!

User

I would like to express a massive thank you to Mr Robert Macdonald (for his professionalism, reassurance & making me comfortable since my consultation up to the day of my operation and for his expertise in laparoscopy giving me a pain free abdomen now), to his friendly, approachable & well-disciplined surgery team and gynaecology ward staff - for making my two nights stay comfortable. May you all be blessed with good health to continuously help and save more patients lives. I had my follow-up check yesterday afternoon and got all cleared. I am looking forward to return to work next week and enjoy my day-to-day life with no more cyst to worry about.

God bless you all xx.

I was brought in by ambulance yesterday from aintree and from start to finish I was looked after in a caring, calm and professional manner. The hospital and ward were clean and all the staff were amazing. Unfortunately I can't remember my doctors name as I was very nervous and anxious on arrival but she was so lovely and I felt very safe in her care. I was admitted to the gynae ward where again there was nothing to fault and Bernie my nurse was a credit to your hospital. I am due back on Thursday for a follow up scan and not as anxious about it as I could be due to knowing you have some brilliant staff working there! Thank you very much

I was assigned Carmel Doyle as my midwife and would just like to say how well cared for I was. Carmel made sure my mental health and well being was priority and that I had consistency with only seeing the one midwife. I felt that I could really connect with Carmel and it helped that I didn't have to keep explaining my situation, we could properly asses my pregnancy and babies progression before and after birth. We are both doing really well and feel that having Carmel support us with one on one interaction all the way through helped give us the best start we could hope for. I ended up having a home birth but had attended the hospital for scans and check ups and found it plesant and the people relatively helpful. I also saw a consultant Dr. Jilani. She was amazing with me too and I felt very supported by her and cared for. Thank you.

I gave birth to Noah a week ago today and what can I say I am over the moon. This is baby number 2 (11year gap) and after a very stressful pregnancy (being seen weekly in ODU) and the initial disappointment of not being induced early as the plan from the consultant, due to Scbu being closed for nearly a week.

I was then given 5* treatment by my friends and colleagues at Lwh when we were finally induced and Noah literally flew into the world. I wish to thank all the amazing staff from the day ward Gina and Hillary who saw me weekly from 23 weeks, to the girls on the big day.

Massive shout out to Chelsea walker and Louise Jackson for your support and encouragement and the safe delivery of Noah, I really could not have done it with out you guys.

I know we are stretched and busy in the nhs but we are totally an amazing team and put women at the fore front of our care.

Thank you so much

User

Happy birthday NHS and a big thanks to LWH. The Endometriosis team are amazing, proactive and they listen. The staff throughout are fantastic. We're so fortunate to have free at point of care medical treatment and a hospital to be proud of. My daughter is there for maternity care and we wouldn't even consider anywhere else. Thank you NHS and Liverpool Women's.

Had my baby girl on 28/04/18, felt like labour went on forever but I had the most amazing midwifes from start to finish! I can't thank Vicky enough, she was truly amazing and even stayed past her shift to watch my baby be born! Also thank you to all the doctors involved in getting her out and just all the staff in general forever greatful for the safe arrival of my Darcie x x

User

Had minor surgery here on Wednesday and just wanted to say how grateful I am to the theatre staff who helped calm me as I was a mess before my op - uncontrollable shaking and crying! But they were all so lovely and I’ll never forget that. And to Mr Botros who is a brilliant surgeon and so helpful and reassuring with his patients. And finally to all the staff on the gynaecology ward who work such long hours and do all they can to make you feel comfortable. This has to be one of the best hospitals in the world

User

Gave birth here in August with my first little boy after switching from Whiston and honestly couldn’t of made a better decision. Nothing was too much trouble for the two midwives I had (Laura&Katie). It’s such a lovely hospital and feels so warm and welcoming. My midwife Laura didn’t even mind clearing my sick up considering she was pregnant herself and kept coming in and checking on me all the time and bringing me water due to me being very dehydrated. All the staff are lovely from what I saw as we were up there quite a lot due to my little man being rather lazy. I wouldn’t question coming here again if I had any more children. The midwives and staff all do an amazing job and made my labour really calm after being extremely nervous and worried. Keep it up!Xxx

User

Can’t praise this hospital highly enough! My 89 year old Mum had a cyst removed from one of her ovaries! She was in HDU for 2 weeks then a side ward for another 2 wks! Sadly she didn’t make it but the staff were amazing! I couldn’t have wished for better care for my Mum! My sincere thanks to Shadaya Brigette De Cruz her surgeon who even gave me a hug! Thank you to each and every one of you on Gynaecology Ward! You do an amazing job!

User

Can I say a big thank you to Laura from MLU who delivered my grandson this morning I have been at the birth of my 3 granddaughters as well as my grandson I have never met such a caring and compassionate midwife as I did today the care she gave was outstanding she looked after my daughter from start to end. As a nurse myself we aren’t always given the recognition we deserve and I have been a patient at LWH myself but cannot thank Laura enough and a little Thank You goes a long way xx

User

Amazing , the end of my labour didn’t go to plan and the reaction time was incredible. Felt comfortable, informed and laughed where we could including sending the hubby out in the middle of the night for a Big Mac!

After loosing my first baby girl to a heart condition in 2017 in Arrowe Park hospital, I had heard such good things about the woman’s so I travelled from Ellesmere Port in Cheshire for my antenatal care at the woman’s and I have to say it was second to none, from start to end , I was in triage all the time with anxiety after my history this pregnancy was so hard for me and every single time I turned up in triage they were so kind and caring and never made me feel as if I was waisting their time!! Millie was born very healthy on 24th July via elective csection and I can’t thank the staff at the woman’s enough for listening to my worries, never brushing anything off and delivering my baby girl safely, even down to breaking down in tears when I walked in the operating theatre, I was comforted by everyone in there. I was in for three days after Millie was born as I wanted help breastfeeding but wasn’t able to in the end as Millie had a tongue tie but all the labour ward staff on ward 17 tried their very best to help me, especially Lucy Ginley, she put a lot of time and effort in and I’m so grateful to her! I won’t hesitate to go back to the woman’s for my next pregnancy! The 40 minute journey is worth every penny for the best care I received. Xx

User

Just spent last 3 days here waitin to have my beautiful baby girl Lacey who finally arrived on 1st June 2018 healthy and perfect thank you so much to my amazing midwives Jo on the induction suite who then helped through the birth and aftercare and also Gene who was my birthing midwife who kept me strong through this very tiring time and who delivered my baby girl who also turns out to be her first delivered baby girl into this world. I can not thank you all enough for the support you all gave me and now made my life complete with this little beautiful girl xx

User

Currently waiting for my partner to be seen it's one and a half hours past her appointment time, this is not unusual we have been several times and waited 1 - 8 hours to be seen, please sort this out as it's depressing, other than that the staff are great

User

My postnatal care is being overseen by the Liverpool Women's community Midwives and I would hands down say this is the worst care I have received! Absolute nightmare tracking a midwife down, they never get back to you, forget visits, haven't been able to assist me with some personal problems which Ive been asking for some help with. My baby is 14 days today! At one point the community team asked me whether I had a baby when I called to question why nobody had shown up! Sick of being lied to! Now 2 weeks old and we've pretty much been shoved to the bottom of somebody's schedule! Will definitely be raising a complaint with LWH PALS.
