User

Great vibe, great food, awesome music, good choice of drinks. One of the best places to go if you venture down lark lane!

To be honest was here purely to listen to the Xander brothers doing their stuff and wasn't disappointed. Bit of a trek from Bolton so won't be just popping in. Will call back though to catch the boys again. Beer I had was fine and there was a good atmosphere in the area with the stage. Quiz was running late so had a go at that too. If you're coming to watch the Peace Pirates get down a little early for quiz, just might win ┬Ż25 to spend at bar.

User

Nice friendly place with a good warm atmos! Good choice of beers and food!... what's not to like?...oh and Did I mention Zander and the Peace Pirates for music on a Sunday? Treat yourself!

User

Lovely atmosphere and food. Reasonable prices. However, the lights are too low people can smack their faces with them and the benches/tables are very awkward and small.

User

First visit but won't be the last. Great venue with a lovely friendly atmosphere. There to see our great friends and amazing band that are Xander and the Peace Pirates!

Popped in for a pint after a meal up the road. It was about 11pm ish seemed an nice atmosphere, footy was on tele and it was a cosy place with nice interior decor. My pal got craft ale which I was gutted I never got! I had lager and my other pal order cherry budweiser by accident haha, we all had some of it. 10/15 mins later staff were shouting drink up, fair enough though was closing time. Would pop in again.

I visited love and rockets this evening with my boyfriend after a hard week in work we were looking forward to a drink and food together. we went up to order our food to be greeted with a grunt from the chef who seemed unhappy at us placing an order. He reluctantly said we can place an order but it would be the last one, this was 7.30. then one pizza came out, I ordered the boss hog pizza, which came with no bacon or barbecue sauce. After 20 minutes, my boyfriends pizza and nachos still hadn't made an appearance by this time I had finished eating my pizza. I did make an enquiry and the lady informed me there had been a mix up with tickets and it would be coming shortly. 10 minutes later the rest of our food appeared but as you can imagine it is not what we planned, coming out for a meal but eating separate and also rude chefs. Our food was delicious and would love to return but how can we be guaranteed this wouldn't happen again?

User

I preferred it as Bier but it's still good now. Good selection of beers but I haven't tried the food. Mens toilets could do with some tlc... Like a lightbulb! Nice to sit out in the sun though.

User

Great place if you want a beer and to meet friends. Warm pub with a welcoming atmosphere. Food wasn't so great though. Poor McD's style french fries with cheese, when you thought you were getting chips or wedges. Nacho's was cobbled together with an unidentifiable and unpalatable white sauce. Both orders in our party were left having eaten less than half.

User

Large selection of beer pumps but it seems they were changing the barrels on the first 3 choices I made....... hmm.... really?

Angle Iron seat frames with upright backs and cheap ply board... no cushions, not looking to keep customers comfortable..... back room was rammed with these bench and table sets... so many seats there was no room for any atmosphere!

Might be better if it was crowded.

I havent lived in Liverpool for 5 years so took a walk up the Lane for a trip down memory lane. Had a few in the Albert then called in here. Before I left it was known as Bier and previously Low Bar. Those places were decent enough but it has seriously gone down the pan now. The ale was rediculously expensive, they must have thought they were on Park Lane and not Lark Lane. The bar was so full of crap that you couldnt even lean on it, spilled beer, snot rags, straws, and probably used tampons. When i went the toilet i wasnt sure whether to go in the pan or on the floor. I was actually gutted i didnt bring my wellies. Its funny how an absolute yard of a place can be so popular. But if you are the only place on the Lane staying open late i suppose people will put up with this crap.

User

Went in Sat evening for a meal. Tried to tell a waiter / bar staff my pizza was burned and his reply was " I am not the chef and he walked away. Bar staff were pretentions and either not trained or badly trained .Seems customer service is not hip. Maybe re-naming it Burnt Pizza and Pretentiousness could be an option, won't be back.
