A few ideas here of what to do when coming camping to the Eden Valley

User

The frosty mornings have fully set in as we officially close for another year! We've had a really enjoyable season with the best bunch of campers we think we've ever had! The weather in the early part of the year was outstanding and made for ideal camping conditions we can only hope for again. Loads of great memories made by everyone! We've got a very busy winter ahead of us making more improvements for the future our campsite. Most important of all our new toilet block is well underway and will be a welcome facility for anyone visiting next year. Thanks to everyone who came camping, hope to see you all again!

User

An amazing swimming spot 10 minutes drive away from the campsite. You wouldn't catch me in there in October though!

User

We still have a few dates available in October to get away for a couple of cosy nights in our yurt before it gets packed away until next year.
Get in touch for prices and availability.

Pleased to say this weekends festival was a complete success!! I couldn't be happier with how things went and everybody who came. I want to firstly thank every one of the musicians, many of who had travelled a long way to come and play for next to nothing. This event could only have run on that kind of attitude and generosity. 👍 The same goes to Ben Parkinson who ran the sound for the weekend and provided the marquee, was nice to have at least one professional on site! Kev th...e big pan man who did all the food and the Kings Head for the bar.
If anyone got any nice pictures of the festival, please post them on here.
Hope you all had a good weekend and enjoyed the music!
See you next year

Looks like we're due a bit of rain at some point over the weekend but we've got 3 shelters set up and a huge marquee to keep us all dry ☔

What to know for Greenside Festival.
You can arrive anytime on Friday or Saturday but please make sure you see me when you get here to collect your wristband.
MONEY - Please bring cash to pay for food and drink, nearest cash machine is 5 miles away.
... FOOD - Kevin the big pan man is serving quality food all weekend, including breakfast. Plenty to choose from with a veggie option too.
WELLIES!!!!
DRINKS - The Kings Head are providing a bar for both nights, serving while music is being played.
CAMPING - Camping is free all weekend, there's loads of space and campfires are provided on every pitch. We have wood here for campfires, just ask. Camp chairs might be a good idea for sitting round the bonfire.
BONFIRE - Will be going both nights.
DOGS - It's fine to bring dogs, but they have to be on a lead at all times because there are sheep and chickens around.
DIRECTIONS - Postcode is CA17 4LU. Or Google Low Greenside Farm Campsite and follow directions. Coming from the M6, come off at junction 38, straight over the roundabout heading towards Brough and Kirkby Stephen. Continue for 7 miles. Take the first right turn into Ravenstonedale. After 100m turn right up Greenside Lane. First house on the left, pull into the carpark on the left.

Playing on Friday the 14th at our festival
Me, Thee & E, are a songwriting duo, formed in the summer of 2017. Their take on the singer-songwriter thing spirals out of a love of jazz, classical and folk music. From Bach to Gershwin, Paco de Lucia to Bob Dylan, Ella Fitzgerald and back again, Tom and Evie have performed and absorbed as much as they could together. As well as old favourites, they share their own songs. Songs about love, life, death and misadventure, poor days and the search for bigger wisdom in their mid 20s world. Expect vibrant flamenco inspired interplay between vocal and guitar and many a story from these young troubadours.

User

What a wonderful gem of a campsite, with truly hospitable hosts, Magnus, Rosie, Kealey and Jacob. We loved our bank holiday stay, the weather was glorious, the views were stunning and the general vibe of the campsite certainly draws you to return (although you can't necessarily guarantee the weather). We are torn between shouting and telling everyone what a great place to stay it is, and saying nothing to keep it as our secret hideaway Thank you once again for all your hard work, particularly this weekend xx

User

What a wonderful find! We absolutely loved our time at Low Greenside. Rosie, Magnus, Kealey and Jacob couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. It’s such a tranquil place with so much space for the children to play and adults unwind. We keep talking about it and can’t wait to come again.

User

What a fantastic campsite. We have just had the most amazing trip all thanks to the site and hospitality of Magnus and Rosie at the campsite. The site is beautiful with so much to do nearby. The facilities are always kept clean and staff helpful and friendly. They were kind enough to loan us a welcome mat and a wind break when we were battling with the wind and magnus organised a slip and slide in the good weather for the kids which really made it for them. All extra touches which go so far and make a holiday. You can tell they care about the site and the whole camping experience by having camping as it's meant to be with fires but not overcrowding the site. They care about their guests and their site in the way it is maintained and presented. A lot of work and effort is put in and magnus has a very skilled creative flare. Thank you for everything...we will hopefully be back one day. Claire and Jason and the three bambinos

User

What a fantastic campsite. We've just spent the weekend at lower greenside and couldn't have asked for a better place to take our 2 little ones camping for the first time. From roasting marshmallows on our own little camp fire to helping the owners soon Jacob collect eggs this morning we had a fab time. Thank you so much to Magnus and his family for making us so welcome. We will definitely be back.

User

We had the absolute pleasure of spending two nights in the beautifully handcrafted yurt built by Magnus himself! The craftsmanship is second to none and alongside all the added interior design the yurt is purpose built fit for a queen! With its internal log burner, a separate kitchen and washing up area, not to mention the very private loo no guest could ask for anything more. They really have thought of everything! As soon as we met Magnus and his family they treated us like they had known us for years and made us feel not only at ease but at home. We enjoyed our time so much so we have booked the yurt again! Thank you for having us xxx

User

Thank you Magnus!!!! What a wonderful place to go Camping or Yurting! I was a little bit skeptical on arriving as i don't like camping at all! The yurt was fabulous. Very clean and everything you could need was available. The kids loved being able to cook outside and were eager to help wash up which is a first! I would recommend this to anyone. As you sat out, in to the night by the fire, you looked up and the night sky was astounding -I would recommend this to anyone camping lovers or not. Thank you. :) PS love the wheelbarrow idea to take all your stuff to the Yurt, very handy.

User

Stayed for a few nights this June when doing my Coast to Coast. A lovely little campsite and very quiet. Really big pitches as well.

User

Stayed for a couple of nights on a motorcycle tour of the Lake District. Great location, spacious pitches, safe, quiet, very fair prices, good amentities, and friendly owners. From what I saw the site appeals to all ages - from solo travellers to couples, friends together and families. For motorcyclists there is a level and secure parking on a reasonable surface, and you can pitch near the bikes (important to a lot of motorcyclists).

There was a certain 'chilled' atmosphere about the place (no, not the weather) which made for a restful stay. The location makes it a good base for walks and adventures further afield. The village is a short stroll away. We ate at the King's Head. The village has a colony of Red Squirrels. We saw two while sitting in the beer garden which brought back all sorts of Tufty Club nostalgia!

Low Greenside Farm is highly recommended.

User

Stayed at the yurt for 2 nights in June with friends. Beautifully designed and quirky place. I believe it was built by one of the site owners and is clearly a labour of love. Loved the little kitchen, the washing up station with such lovely views it made washing up a pleasure and the very comfy king size bed. Beautiful sunsets and full moons whilst we all sat around the fire pit - great memories and would definitely go back.

User

Quite simply a brilliant place to camp and a great base for explorations to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Many thanks Magnus and Rosie. We will be back. :-)

User

Peaceful, quiet, friendly campsite. No WiFi, no loud groups and beautiful views plus campfires, what more do you need really? Nothing. Magnus and his family go out of their way to make you feel at peace. I can't wait to return.

Our first glamping experience and what a wonderful time we had at Far Field Yurt ..... we were welcomed by both Magnus and Rosie on arrival and grabbed a couple of wheelbarrows to take all our stuff to the yurt, Magnus came with us and showed us where everything was, we were really taken aback by the appearance of the yurt and contents.... it was just superb, every little detail has been covered ..... I was a bit worried about the loo being an earth toilet but I had no need to worry at all it was spotlessly clean and well maintained, the scullery kitchen was fantastic with everything you need in it and the outside sink didn’t pose a problem even in the pouring rain. Our 2 night stay was an amazing adventure for a couple of pensioners who wanted to do something different . Thankyou Magnus and Rosie we will be returning next year in the summer all being well .... Loved our visit to low greenside farm. It was everything we had been looking for and more! We chose to stay here for a relaxing anniversary break and loved it so much decided to come back in 2 weeks with the children. Met so many fab people! The layout of the site with the pitches round the edges is brilliant, plenty of space and not on top of each other like many sites we have stayed at. The views are beautiful and perfect for watching the sunset/rise. The little village is lovely and very friendly with two pubs, a park, golf and tennis courts. Ideal location for visits to the lakes and dales but plenty of gorgeous walks right from the site itself. The caravan shower block was kept spotlessly clean and a nice touch with communal fridges and freezer! Well done Magnus and family, we can't wait to return on the 29th :-)

User

Just spent a great long weekend and can honestly say it was a pleasure. Magnus and family made us feel welcome. They were very helpful and kept the site very clean and tidy and always had time for a chat. Even joining in the camping experience on site having there own bbq. Fire pits are free and dotted around the site all you pay for is logs. There are some lovely walks for all abilities. Ravenstonedale is within walking distance and although small has two choices for food. We will definately consider this a place to stay again.

User

Great mini break in the Far Field Yurt (built by Magnus). Really well equipped and Magnus has built in lots of cool little hacks - he really has thought of everything. We’d really recommend this place for a family get away or with friends.
