Message from Dave Brown.....
Chaps and chapesses; the sport as a whole, and our club is no different, is facing a real threat to its continuation. I'm referring to the chronic shortage of Track & Field officials. Is there anybody who would be interested in training to become : Track Judge, Timekeeper, Field Official ? The club will pay all costs. Already, in recent years, meets have been cancelled due to lack of officials. If you can help at all can you let myself or Karen Brown know. Thank you.
The club is entitled to one guaranteed place at next year’s Virgin London marathon which takes place on Sunday 28th April. If you would like to be considered for this place, then you need to let club secretary, Karen Brown (karenprobert@yahoo.co.uk) know by Friday 13th December. The criteria for consideration are that you 1) must be a fully paid up member of the club, 2) must be 18 or older and 3) entered but were unsuccessful in this year’s public ballot for places.

Athletes wishing to run in the UKA Cross Challenge to be held at Sefton Park on the 24th November are requested to let their coach know by the 7th November at the latest. Coaches are requested to submit a list of athletes to; John McCarten will handle all age groups up to Under 20s. Robbie Wood will handle senior entries.

Great turnout by the club this morning for the first L&D fixtures of the season. Despite the wind and rain I think we all enjoyed it. Also thanks to the supporters out on the course.
Publicity Officer Wanted
Do you have a journalistic bent ? Do you love to write ? The club has a volunteer opportunity for a Publicity Officer. The role involves preparing competition reports and publishing them on the club website and in the local press. Both the website and the press reports help promote the club and draw in new athletes.
