Lynne Hempton - Translator

Accurate and idiomatic translations from Italian and French into English. Specialist in Mountaineering and Climbing Terminology.

Having studied Modern Languages at the University of Durham, I then moved to Italy and worked as a lingust for Collett's Mountain Holidays (www. colletts. co. uk), a specialist outdoor holiday provider based in the Italian Dolomites.

I began building up translation and interpreting experience with suppliers, landlords and tourist offices, and soon I began translating technical mountaineering publications for specialist publishing house Idea Montagna (www. ideamontagna. it). My own personal passions for climbing, mountaineering and outdoor pursuits in general, as well as my business experience with Collett's, allowed me to produce accurate translations of publications and business correspondence.

In January 2014 I passed the IOL Diploma in Translation papers one and two with merit, and am due to sit the final third paper in January 2015.

I am flexible and reliable, and am happy to provide tailored quotes based on the length and technicality of the desired project.

I specialise in Italian to English translations, but can also deliver French to English translations on request.
