Oly lifting/power sports food for thought -
You're training daily for tripple EXTENSION yet you're sat down the majority of the day working in hip FLEXION..... ๐Ÿ’ญ ๐Ÿด ๐Ÿ–
Oly lifting is a sport that's massively underestimated (probably due to the accessible equipment used for the sport, a fucking barbell!)... Therefore the warm up protocols are often missed, resulting in poor technique (๐Ÿ–๏ธ guilty) and potential injury.
It's also no coincidence that the knee is a slave to the hip and the most common injury is knees.... I can't stress how much specific warm up /activation /release and stretching exercises have made to my lifts, I programme myself more on progressing these than my actual oly lifting programme.

โš  Do you place plates or raise your heel on a squat to help depth? โš
If so you are using a TEMPORARY fix to a deep squat, you need to spend time mobilising your ankles to make any real improvements on your squat.
Using a barbell, you can really stretch and work your ankles into the position you require. This coupled with foam rolling and trigger point release should yield... some good results long term.
If you can't perform a good bodyweight squat, you really shouldn't be using a barbell!

@dannirow last deadlift hurrah before a well earned DEALOAD.
deloads are quite commonly mis interpreted as a rest week and not really important. It couldn't be further from the truth,
On a deload we can work on technical drills, more unilateral work and generally working on areas we are lagging in.

PT sessions with Chris are super fun! It was a first for me to be in such a big gym, but Chrisโ€™ approachable personality made it really easy. My aim was to get rid of back pain, which I had been suffering from for about a year. Chris made a programme, which would help it go away. I noticed a difference after 4 sessions! I have done 10 sessions in total now and have no pain left at all.

One of the reasons I like PT sessions with Chris is because he explains why I am doing the exercises and which muscles it is working. He demonstrates how to do them properly so I can come back to the gym and safely do them on my own.

Chris has a great way of assessing your progress. This means the activities you are doing are always challenging and it never gets too easy or boring. He motivates you so you want to keep going to the gym to get stronger even when you are not doing PT sessions. The workout routines he gives you to do on your own are also easy to follow and effective.

I have been having sessions with Chris over the last month, and already I have seen a massive improvement in my performance in the gym.

I first met Chris whilst in the gym during my deadlift session. Chris took the time to approach me and gave me some excellent pointers in relation to my form and how I could instantly improve my lift. From that I enquired about PT and began having sessions. I initially had a consultation with Chris so he could understand my goals. This was particularly impressive as I felt confident that I would be getting a program which would be planned and tailored to me specifically; which has been exactly the case. Having been recovering from a shoulder injury, Chris has incorporated mobility work which has really helped with the rehab phase.

The program that he has created for me has been excellent. It has been challenging and really motivated me to improve. Above all however, it has been highly enjoyable. This is largely down to Chris' manner and excellent way of talking you through the exercise, breaking it down and coaching it in a way that is straightforward and to the point. The sessions are always well planned, and I genuinely feel that Chris is dedicated to improving his clients.

His knowledge of fitness is second to none, and I feel I have learned a lot from my time with him. He constantly encourages me to ask questions and is always approachable by email/text.

Chris is a fantastic PT, and I couldn't recommend him highly enough to anyone considering taking sessions.

I approached Chris around early May as I had lost a significant amount of strength due to being lazy and an injury. My diet and nutrition had also taken a turn for the worst, so I was looking for some motivation in those areas. Having used PT's in the past I know how important it is to establish a connection with a trainer and to also actually like them. I'd seen Chris in the gym for many years to say hello to and he seemed very personable hence why I found him easy to approach regarding the training sessions. From May until now after weekly PT sessions I am still sticking to my diet plan, also my strength has significantly improved, nearly back to pre injury and Chris has helped me feel more motivated even on the days that I am training alone by devising me a split bodybuilding programme to carry out even on the days I am not training with him. I would recommend Chris as a PT as he has the skills to carry out the Job and he also has the personality that is just as important

User

Christian was recommended to me by a friend when I finally decided that enough was enough and I was fed up of being unfit and overweight.

As a keen sportsman in my younger years Iโ€™d succumbed to serious knee injuries and had been pretty much written off by therapists after numerous operations. Christian, with consultation from a leading physio that he is partnered with, has designed a structured programme that is allowing me to remove those obstacles and get myself back into exercise; for me (and my wife!) this is an absolute godsend.

Christian is knowledgable, motivational and dedicated to helping you achieve your goals with great feedback along the way. Heโ€™s realistic, supportive and pushes you when needed too. Best of all he is genuinely interested in progressing you and clearly takes a very real interest in learning all he can to help you both succeed.

I couldnโ€™t recommend Christian highly enough as a Personal Trainer and heโ€™s a great bloke too.
