Mark Clegg - Manager and Head Coach at the Olympic Dragons Weightlifting Club. Former Weightlifter /Strongman.

"I am an ex-Member of the British Senior Weightlifting Squad with 10 years on the team during 1997-2007 until I retired from Olympic Lifting. The highlight was to Rank 1 in the Commonwealth Rankings in 2005".

Mark has competed in over 20 of the top British Strongman Competitions and broken various National Records in the under 105kg weight division.

Mark was manager of the Olympic Sports Gym, a family run gym owned by Mark's father, former Manchester United coach Mick Clegg until the start of 2014 when he moved over to the new fitLight Centre with his Dad where he set up the new home to the Olympic Dragons Weightlifting Club after running the club since 2006.

The Club, based at the Riverside Industrial Estate, Ashton-Under-Lyne is a great place for anyone interested in Strongman, Weightlifting, Olympic Lifting or anything else to do with strength training like Atlas Stones and Log Pulls.

Mark says about the club "We have some of the best Powerlifters / Strongmen & Weightlifters in the country BUT there is some confusion about the running of our club. It is not a closed shop for ELITE Athletes. It is open to anybody of any standard whether a first timer, novice or 20 years in the game.
