Went in spur of the moment on Saturday tea time with our young son, everything from start to finish was fab. The staff were very polite and friendly and the steaks were cooked as requested, children's meal was more than plentiful. Unbeknownst to the staff we were celebrating our wedding anniversary so was a perfect end to an already lovely day. Would eat here again x

Just wanted to say a big thank you and well done to two of the staff tonight! There were both polite,helpful and friendly. An even more so when our tea is we’re delayed, then cancelled. We only had a couple of drinks here tonight but will definitely return for the excellent customer service!

I went last night with some friends. As a passionate vegan I was very impressed with their vegan menu. . The service was good and the food was very tasty. I have been a good few times now. I have found the food to consistently be high quality and the staff are always helpful and polite. Would happily recommend Maxwell's to anyone and will definitely continue to go myself!! 🙂

I had the Vegetarian Platter which was delicious & more than plentiful! I shared some of it with my envious friends who couldn't believe it wasn't for more than 1 person! Everyone else enjoyed their meal too. The service was exceptional & our every need & request was pleasantly catered for with a smile by Sam. & her able team of assistants. Many thanks Maxwells-the Clitheroe Kids of yesteryear will return!

Had a lovely lunch yesterday. Gorgeous fresh ingredients. Lovely surrounding and good staff. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Absolutely amazing experience. The food was divine, the staff were so obliging and friendly. I ordered a steak, usually not available until 5pm. It was 2.45pm and the chef agreed to cook me a steak. This was my first visit here, but believe me, I'll be back sooner rather than later. Excelllent plus!

We always visit Maxwells when we are in Clitheroe but I have to say yesterday the service was very poor and it wasn't as busy either as normal after about 25 mins my husband had to ask for service after ordering we had another wait, as always tho food was delicious just a shame the wait it was same a few weeks ago

7 of us visited Maxwells today, looking forward to good service and a good meal, how disappointed we were!

There seemed to be alot of staff around, yet service was pathetic. Took ages to be served drinks to the table and then we came to order food and was told there was a 30 min wait, we accepted this and carried on ordering. Around 30 mins AFTER ordering a member of staff came to inform us that the "fish and chips" wasnt available. This was disgusting. No decent appologies were given. We then waited even longer for our meals to come.

Food was acceptable so no complaints there. After we had finished our meals we yet again had a really long wait for the table to be cleared and for our children to receive their icecreams. I got fed up with waiting so i went to ask a member of staff for them and for the table to be cleared. This was partially done, leaving 3 of of the 7! Come on Maxwells sort it out! You have nice food, plenty of staff around but shocking service!

Stood in the queue to order drinks. We were told to take a seat and they would take our order. Ok no problem. Drinks arrived after being sat on the bar, slammed on the table, asked which wine had lemonade in as a mixer got a grunt and a point. Turns out the one with lemonade had water in it, as you do I took it back to the bar, when I told them it was wrong you would have thought I'd asked them to do something impossible. They replaced it with another slam on the table and a grunt. Crap

Customer service with attitude. See ya, I won't be back and if I could wouldn't be paying either.

Had to send food back here tonight for the first time in my life after the burger came out completely pink in the middle , fell apart to touch and only seemed to have been sealed on one side. After sending it back the chef then had the poor waitress bring it back up to me to tell me the chef says “its fine it’s definitely not raw as he’s cooked it at a certain tenperature” although my partners burger was cooked fine and looked completely different , she did say she could take it back down again and he’d cook it longer but it had literally crumbled into pieces so decided to just leave it, always loved this place before and enjoyed the food so maybe just an off night !

Just wish I had took pictures. Absolutely disgusting. I would sack the chef. Never eat here again.

We had a mix up with our order which isnt a problem but could have been handled better, just dumping plates on a table with no cutlery and saying nothing with no apology was bad service, and the coming over snatching condements off the table whilst saying nothing to us, just made the whole thing pretty uncomfortable so we left and this is somewhere we frequently visit and have enjoyed but probably wont be visiting again.

Restaurant empty - no vibe

waited 55 minutes for starter then had to ask where it was (only ordered Camembert) when I came wasn't even cooked properly. Sent back, it returned a few minutes later so clearly microwaved.

Had to wait another 45 minutes to be served main meal and when it came 3/4 of my chicken burger was raw.

Certainly won't be returning

My daughter and I decided on maxwells for the burgers menu, (our first food option wasn’t open). We both ordered basic cheeseburgers, easy. Trying to eat them wasn’t so. They fell to bits where cooked but were pink and cold in the middle. Raw!!! This is disgraceful. We simply won’t eat there again.

I had the Vegetarian Platter which was delicious & more than plentiful! I shared some of it with my envious friends who couldn't believe it wasn't for more than 1 person! Everyone else enjoyed their meal too. The service was exceptional & our every need & request was pleasantly catered for with a smile by Sam. & her able team of assistants. Many thanks Maxwells-the Clitheroe Kids of yesteryear will return!

Absolutely amazing experience. The food was divine, the staff were so obliging and friendly. I ordered a steak, usually not available until 5pm. It was 2.45pm and the chef agreed to cook me a steak. This was my first visit here, but believe me, I'll be back sooner rather than later. Excelllent plus!

We always visit Maxwells when we are in Clitheroe but I have to say yesterday the service was very poor and it wasn't as busy either as normal after about 25 mins my husband had to ask for service after ordering we had another wait, as always tho food was delicious just a shame the wait it was same a few weeks ago

7 of us visited Maxwells today, looking forward to good service and a good meal, how disappointed we were!

There seemed to be alot of staff around, yet service was pathetic. Took ages to be served drinks to the table and then we came to order food and was told there was a 30 min wait, we accepted this and carried on ordering. Around 30 mins AFTER ordering a member of staff came to inform us that the "fish and chips" wasnt available. This was disgusting. No decent appologies were given. We then waited even longer for our meals to come.

Food was acceptable so no complaints there. After we had finished our meals we yet again had a really long wait for the table to be cleared and for our children to receive their icecreams. I got fed up with waiting so i went to ask a member of staff for them and for the table to be cleared. This was partially done, leaving 3 of of the 7! Come on Maxwells sort it out! You have nice food, plenty of staff around but shocking service!

Stood in the queue to order drinks. We were told to take a seat and they would take our order. Ok no problem. Drinks arrived after being sat on the bar, slammed on the table, asked which wine had lemonade in as a mixer got a grunt and a point. Turns out the one with lemonade had water in it, as you do I took it back to the bar, when I told them it was wrong you would have thought I'd asked them to do something impossible. They replaced it with another slam on the table and a grunt. Crap

Customer service with attitude. See ya, I won't be back and if I could wouldn't be paying either.

Had to send food back here tonight for the first time in my life after the burger came out completely pink in the middle , fell apart to touch and only seemed to have been sealed on one side. After sending it back the chef then had the poor waitress bring it back up to me to tell me the chef says “its fine it’s definitely not raw as he’s cooked it at a certain tenperature” although my partners burger was cooked fine and looked completely different , she did say she could take it back down again and he’d cook it longer but it had literally crumbled into pieces so decided to just leave it, always loved this place before and enjoyed the food so maybe just an off night !

We went yesterday Sunday 20th. We went especially for Beat the Burger and was looking forward to it. How wrong was I. Started off walked in nice people working thought great can't wait. Service great drinks arrived and then burgers came. We all ordered the same. One was cooked, mine was slightly raw. My partners was completely raw. Cooked on outside raw in centre. Could not mistake it. Went to pay and the guy being the bar said it was down to additives in the meat that shows it's pink sometimes. After working with food for a long time you know what raw is. Just wish I had took pictures. Absolutely disgusting. I would sack the chef. Never eat here again.

We had a mix up with our order which isnt a problem but could have been handled better, just dumping plates on a table with no cutlery and saying nothing with no apology was bad service, and the coming over snatching condements off the table whilst saying nothing to us, just made the whole thing pretty uncomfortable so we left and this is somewhere we frequently visit and have enjoyed but probably wont be visiting again.

Restaurant empty - no vibe

waited 55 minutes for starter then had to ask where it was (only ordered Camembert) when I came wasn't even cooked properly. Sent back, it returned a few minutes later so clearly microwaved.

Had to wait another 45 minutes to be served main meal and when it came 3/4 of my chicken burger was raw.

Certainly won't be returning

My daughter and I decided on maxwells for the burgers menu, (our first food option wasn’t open). We both ordered basic cheeseburgers, easy. Trying to eat them wasn’t so. They fell to bits where cooked but were pink and cold in the middle. Raw!!! This is disgraceful. We simply won’t eat there again.

When we come to Clitheroe it's the first place we visit. The food and service is excellent. Thank you Maxwells. May your success continue.

Went in spur of the moment on Saturday tea time with our young son, everything from start to finish was fab. The staff were very polite and friendly and the steaks were cooked as requested, children's meal was more than plentiful. Unbeknownst to the staff we were celebrating our wedding anniversary so was a perfect end to an already lovely day. Would eat here again x

Just wanted to say a big thank you and well done to two of the staff tonight! There were both polite,helpful and friendly. An even more so when our tea is we’re delayed, then cancelled. We only had a couple of drinks here tonight but will definitely return for the excellent customer service!

I went last night with some friends. As a passionate vegan I was very impressed with their vegan menu. . The service was good and the food was very tasty. I have been a good few times now. I have found the food to consistently be high quality and the staff are always helpful and polite. Would happily recommend Maxwell's to anyone and will definitely continue to go myself!! 🙂
