Skilfully fantabulous. For you petrol heads, just make brum brum sounds if it helps 🤣🤣

For me this year has been difficult. Due to family responsibilities it has not been possible to find the time needed to prepare and I will not be taking part in this years Classic TT. I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all Competitors and Organisers a successful and safe IOM 2019, and look forward to joining you all again next year.

Thought some of you might find this interesting 😊

Today is a good morning. The weekend saw the homecoming of dad from hospital after 10 weeks. We've finally got a working toilet after nearly 3 weeks because we needed to remodel the bathroom for dad. The shed is watertight, and I'll be able to start filling it [yes the shed, you potty minded lot!] It means that at last I hope to be able to push on with the build up to IOM Classic TT 2019 ! Definitely feeling hopeful.

For Dave, Andy and Ian it’s VIP treatment at IOM this year with free coffee n cake for guessing it was the run from governors - albeit in the wrong direction. We’d taken one of Dave Hardmans road BSA’s for a spin - great fun but I got a ticking off for leaving the backup team somewhat behind.... well, what did they expect. Put me on a bike & I’m OFF.....

User

Sorry for my long long absence… It’s been manic since IOM with everything from cleaning all the bikes, to putting shite away, and then having to build a new shed to accommodate even more hahahhaaaaa
I’d just like to wish you all a great 2019. I'll try to send pictures when the rain stops.... but in the mean time it's Quiz time. Where am I……?

Update on the Drixton: retirement due to ignition stater failure. Silly little thing to put you out of a race 😦 Happy that it’s not a major failure and no damage done. So it’s back to the laboratory to eek out some more hp 😈

Classic Junior TT race update: the race got underway at 4pm after many delays. Phil had pulled up 2 places when, unfortunately on the second lap the little Drixton failed. Phil is OK, but so far we’re awaiting recovery and a full analysis of what has gone wrong. Sorry people. That’s road racing - as Phil says “the most dangerous thing you can do legally”... watch this space. Team McGurk are just happy Phil is unhurt (apart from his pride I bet) 🙂

Monday morning update. We’re still sat here in the paddock and the Drixton Honda is up at Parc Ferme, undercover, having passed through inspection earlier. The weather again is playing havoc with schedules so all we can do is wait. Fingers crossed peoples 😬

From setting a record to running in new tyres... all in a days work for Phil McGurk

Well folks the mountain circuit gods favoured us today. Goldie put in a great performance bringing us home in 11th place. It wasn't without it's difficulties after the clutch cable snapped at the start of the second lap. We managed to get to the 100mph race average and reclaim our lap record for a Gold Star at 101.912mph. Team McGurk very happy. And a very happy Mr Hardman [grumpy]. Videos to follow.

User

Welcome to the first race day. The suns shining and the Goldstar is now in parked up in the holding pen waiting to enjoy a thrashing round the mountain course. 150 miles (4 laps) and hopefully a chequered flag 🏁 Later people’s 💕

BSA Goldstar 500cc

Well todays schedule was changed more times than a nuns knickers! Phil finally got out on the Goldstar and took 'teddy' for a decent practice lap of 98mph. Teddy is a little mascot that Barbara [Dave Hardmans wife] put on to look after the bike and rider [thank you : )]. Tomorrow is race day and the team are currently working on last minute improvements and replacing the tyres, etc. But for now.... here you go, a few very decent pictures with a video to follow. Nite nite.

User

UPDATE: Tonight’s results are in and Phil was the fastest in the CTT 350 field with a credible lap time of just under 96mph. And in unfavourable conditions we’re a very happy team.

Passing the grandstand at tonight’s practice.
