Fact Friday:The term “hay fever” came about before the medical community understood the cause of allergic rhinitis, a reaction to the fine pollen released into the air by flowering trees and plants. Because symptoms would strike during the time of the hay harvest, when these pollens would be in the air, the condition was called hay fever. While it’s possible to be allergic to hay, usually people with hay fever are allergic to the pollen of grasses, trees and weeds.

I recently did my first trial at the MEU, I was a little nervous to be truthful but was immediately reassured by the warm welcome I received. My trial involved overnight stays which concerned me because of me having children, but I was reassured instantly because they could visit unlimited and all I can say is it was a very relaxing stay. If you're ever considering a trial then please don't hesitate, all the staff are helpful and friendly (especially Shona), nothing was too much trouble, their professionalism, consideration and support was overwhelming and certainly is a credit to the MEU, when the trial was over i have to be honest I was sad to leave. A happy & enjoyable experience, I can't wait for my next trial.
