Wonderful stay at Merewood. Excellent staff and facilities. We were treated so well from getting there until we left. The room was lovely with all the facilities you would ever want. Enjoyed the coffe machine! The staff could not do enough for you and we're very friendly and helpful. Loved the barman, very informative and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We will be back!

What a stunning country hotel this is! Friendly welcoming staff, superb food (we had the 8 course taster menu), great breakfast, beautiful bedroom and facilities. Lovely afternoon tea overlooking the lake. Highly recommended to family and friends.

Went for afternoon tea today at this beautiful hotel. Made to feel very welcome and staff happily helped us with a double pram and even offered to make our 8 month old baby a sandwich! Afternoon tea was lovely and staff talked us through the amazing range of teas they offer. The food itself was very good. Large selection of savoury and amazing cakes! Couldn’t finish though so we were given the leftovers in boxes to finish at home! Hats off to the chef Carl Semple you have a true talent we would definitely recommend. We will definitely return soon for the taster menu

We have stayed here a few times over the years and what keeps us coming back each time is the place food and service has been consistently excellent. Last night we had the 8 course taster menu which was fantastic Michelin star standard food. We love sitting by the log fires looking over the lake it’s magical. Cant recommend this place enough!

We have spent 3 amazing days here on the ‘Gourmet Getaway’ package.

The food is truly outstanding, from the 7 course taster menu to the superb breakfast, cooked freshly to order. Afternoon tea is just unbelievable ..... a massive array of delicious savouries and beautiful cakes and possets, superbly presented.

The staff are just the most pleasant and helpful people, and can’t do enough to make your stay memorable.

The hotel is set in stunning gardens with spectacular views of lake Windermere.

You really could not wish for more!

We had our wedding here 30/06/18. Oh my gosh! It was literally the most perfect day. It couldn’t have been any better and nothing was too much for Merewood. Helen was our fabulous wedding coordinator and she was the star of the show. She made sure everything ran smoothly and is such a lovely lady! Everything was perfect. Can’t wait to spend our anniversaries here. We would honestly recommend it to anyone. Absolutely stunning � just wish we could do it all again!

Stayed here for two nights for my nephew’s wedding. The location, accommodation and food were all superb. All of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful in what was a very busy weekend for them.

My husband and I got married here on the 2nd July 2018. From the moment we first visited over a year ago we knew that Merewood was our dream venue. The views are incredible and the hotel itself is just beautiful. The whole process in the lead up to the wedding was made so easy and stress free . We had a "just us" wedding package with a small amount of guests who all stayed in the hotel too. We stayed in room 2 which is the bridal suite and it was gorgeous, however, our only criticism is the lack of air con as it was boiling hot during our stay. The afternoon tea and grill menu were both great and the arboreal menu which we had on our wedding day itself was unlike anything I've ever had before - I was quite nervous about it but it was really tasty! After our ceremony we took a boat ride on lake Windermere - the lake was easy to get to, even in my wedding dress and I can't wait to see the photos as the views were just unreal. The staff at the hotel couldn't do enough to help us and we enjoyed every second, it was just perfect . Thank you!

My husband and I got married at Merewood earlier in June. The grounds are stunning with views looking out to windermere and inside Merewood has a calm cosy homely feel to it, despite its large space. The Food was delicious! The all the staff have been fantastic throughout all the planning and the day itself. A special thanks to Helen, the wedding coordinator, who has been outstanding, an asset to the team there. Thanks for making our day run soo smooth and for making everything easy! Merewood is a wonderful hotel with the most friendly staff anyone could ever meet. Helen is fantastic she sorted our booking and arranged for us to stay in the same room for teo nights. All staff were polite friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The waiters in the dinning room were great. Thank you all for making our stay very enjoyable we will be back very soon I hope ❤️

Me and my husband got married on the 26th may and had are reception here, we had an amazing day the staff couldn’t have done any more for us. Helen the wedding coordinator was amazing and so helpful she went above and beyond to make sure are day was exactly as we wanted, she even rang me the day before to check if there was anything else she could do to make me less stressed. The food was amazing. We have had some lovely comments from are family and friends saying how wonderful it was and it was the best wedding they have been to.

Loved this hotel, the rooms were spacious the food was amazing and all the staff were so cheerful and helpful .. felt like a family we will be back ... thank you to all the staff for making our stay so comfortable and taking the time to have a chat and a song .. Cheryl and Ed

Had an amazing few days here last week for our anniversary (thank you for our card and chocolates) a very nice touch. Our room was stunning and the standard of cleanliness was outstanding. All staff very attentive. We enjoyed a cream tea, the 7 course which ended up actually being a 8 course taster menu along with the wine flight and the breakfast all of which were of a very high quality and again nothing was too much trouble. The gardens and surroundings again were very well kept. No bad comments about this stunning building and food. Keep up the good work and we will certainly be returning again soon �

Had a wonderful 2 night stay at Merewood Country House. Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely rooms, especially number 4 with the lake view - Clean & tidy with some nice added extras. The grounds are beautful and location is perfect. Overall a fantastic stay. Thank you!

Great views of Windermere from room 4 and top notch breakfast in bed! Grounds were lovely and destinations were all roughly half an hour in either direction from the hotel so nice and central to travel round The Lakes.

My only wish is that the rooms had air conditioning. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay.

Currently staying here for 3 nights all I can say is wow what stunning views, beautiful room ( room 11) with 5 Windows with panoramic view. Very charming with lots of character. Had a lovely meal in the grill last night. Breakfast superb. And looking forward to afternoon tea. One thing they should have is a local artist painting pictures of the view from the lounge it is just wonderful ��

Cannot tell you how perfect my wedding was here at the Merewood yesterday. It was everything I could have imagined and more! The wedding planer, Helen, pulled out all the stops for us. I cannot thank her enough for all the hard work she did yesterday and helping us plan our perfect day. Also a massive thank you to the team at the Merewood. The food was out of this world. The complements we had were fantastic. We could not fault it at all. Also your whole team that work there were so professional but also so kind that it almost felt home from home. Nothing was any trouble. I really appreciated all the hard work that went on, front of house and behind the scenes. A real top day had by all. I have to highly recommend this spot for a wedding. Everything was perfect, inside and out. Back home now and on a massive high. Thank you, all of you, again! Steph and Mike xxxx

Attended a "Just Us" wedding. The hotel and grounds are absolutely amazing. All the staff were fantastic, so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was out of this world, afternoon tea was unbelievable and what we couldn't manage to eat was boxed up for us. Our evening meals were delicious and looked too good to eat. The chefs are so talented. We were made to feel so special, l cannot praise everyone and everything enough. Thank you so much for arranging such a wonderful wedding and giving us some unforgettable memories. **********

Absolutely fantastic place. Beautiful setting to arrive and stay at, helpful and lovely staff. We had afternoon tea for 4 people. Staff where great at talking us through different teas, helping which to pic. The food was amazing, and any we where not able to finish was made ready for us to take home. Totally recommend for anyone who wants to have a wonderful time.
