Merseyside Cnd Description
CND campaigns against Nuclear Weapons, and believes that a safe future is only achievable when a few cannot destroy the human race on a whim. Our campaign is non-violent, and aims to create debate about British Nuclear weapons policy and also globally, with the ultimate aim of multilateral nuclear disarmament.
CND is part of Abolition 2000- a global network to eliminate nuclear weapons.

Since 1978 the Norwegian-based Bike for Peace has travelled the world to promote peace, friendship and our common environment. Along the way they have met Pope Francis, former United Nations General Secretary, Ban Ki-Moon and the Mayors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
On Sunday they arrived in Liverpool where we hosted a reception in their honour at Friends’ Meeting House.
The following day they were given a tour of Liverpool Town Hall by Lord Mayor Cllr. Malcolm Kennedy.
... They are passionate opponents of nuclear weapons and it is a privilege for us t have met a group that has shown such an extraordinary commitment to promoting the cause of peace.
