Our Hair and Beauty salon had two very important customers visit lately; these two glamorous girls came from Brookfield CP school and were treated to a makeover by our talented team.

Pathways to Adulthood were thrilled to receive an invitation to Afternoon Tea at Delphside School, the afternoon was made all the more charming with the company of Aaron crest Nursing home residents who danced and sang along throughout the proceedings :-)

Pathways to Adulthood students had a great time at a local University of the Third age event last week, they sold all of their plants and got some great advice from the club members for their upcoming mock interviews.

Midstream Summer Fayre will take place on Friday 29th June 2-4pm. Everyone is welcome.

Its that time of year again! the time of year that turns our Horticulture Instructor Dawn into a basket case! (she loves it really...) every year we plants hundreds of Baskets for Chorley Council make sure you keep an eye out for them.

Over the last couple of weeks some of our students having been learning about Fire Safety with Skelmersdale Fire Service
Our lessons concluded with a trip to the fire station. Lots of fun had by all! :-)

Wow £656.50 raised so far! We are so proud of our Pathways students who braved the cold weather recently to walk for Sport Relief. Thank you to all the students who took part in our fundraising walks to Beacon Fell & Nicky Nook Fell and a massive thank you to everyone who sponsored them. We are thrilled to announce our recent award given by Lancashire County Councils High Sheriff in recognition of our 'great and valuable service to the community' High Sheriff Robert Webb stated 'Anita and her team have been developing the facilities at Midstream for quite a while now, it doesn't take long to realise what a wonderful job they are doing and how very much they are appreciated by those involved' Anita Cooke our Chief Executive is thrilled that our hard work has been recognised.

It might feel a bit wet and miserable outside today after yesterday's sunshine, but the plants in our Garden Centre don't seem to mind one bit!

Our Garden Centre are now selling gift items on Ebay!
As well as giving customers the opportunity to purchase our lovely items online, the new Ebay store gives our learners the opportunity to develop new skills :)
Learners have the task of listing the items, using photographs they have taken and descriptions they have written.
... We've already sold our very first item online, and James and Jeannie have been packaging it ready for posting!

Some of our Hair and Beauty students went to the 'Hair & Beauty Northwest' event at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool last week. They watched shows and demonstrations and met some of the leading professionals in the hair and beauty industry. Jack said that he really enjoyed seeing the different hair styles!

Yes we did it! We made it to the top or Nicky Nook Fell to raise money for Sport Relief. Total raised and more pictures soon. In the meantime, we're off for a well earnt rest.

Visited here today with my mum, we had lunch in the cafe it was lovely everything was homemade & tasty & the place was absolutely spotless.

The grounds were lovely & we had a walk around the gift shop & garden centre. The staff were lovely, we met a lovely lady who made my baby giggle! He normally doesn’t take on strangers but he loved her attention!

It’s a hidden gem! We will definitely be visiting again soon!

Visit soon, I predict that they will have to take bookings soon! Food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Great value for money too!

The guys at Midstream tend to the grave yard at my local church in Orrell. They do an amazing job and the grounds have never looked as good. Thank you and keep up the good work ( it is appreciated).

Our Olivia Swan loves it here, she's been coming since she was 14/15 and every day she's here is a joy, the staff are wonderful, she has lots of friends and a real sense of responsibility. she loves coming home every night and telling us what "grafting" she's been up to its always changing it's in the office, in the crafts, the potting sheds, or going to Don Orionis. go down there and see the wonderful work they do there, and grab some wonderful plants and have a cake and coffee while you're there.

My son has been at midstream since he left hawkley brook college, he absolutely loves it ere. The staff are amazing and he has met some wonderful people. He has worked in the cafe , kitchen and at the moment in the garden centre which he is loving. The work the staff do ere with william is amazing and has become more independent and always comes home with a lovely smiling face...

My son Philip has been a Midstream client for over 13 years. During that time midstream has grown and developed into the fantastic centre it is today. This is due to the tireless hard work and effort of the management and staff to make it a safe and productive environment for it's clients. The plants and gift shop are of the highest quality. Philip votes with his feet and wouldn't go if he didn't feel happy and secure. Can't thank you all enough.

My son Matthew has been coming here for the past 3 years. He has learnt so much and experienced so many different things that he would never have done. From enjoying different work placements in the garden shop, outdoor work placements, office based placements to visiting exhibitions, taking part in award winning films and visiting tv studios. His teacher Nic and staff Catherine Ben and Sophie are amazing with Matt, understanding him brilliantly and encouraging him to try new and exciting activities that he wouldn't normally do. Rock climbing gym visits all address his need to exercise as Matt is diabetic. Each programme is tailor made to meet the needs of your child or relative.

If you ask me would I recommend midstream the answer is 100% yes !

are always cheerful and friendly, as are their clients. Staff work hard to ensure that the shop and cafe are always spotless and everything is well presented so it was shocking to find the new outside tables and chairs had all been stolen. We had a look around the little garden centre and gift shop, then we sat for a while at the outside tables in the shade and enjoyed the view of the grounds. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I shall be going again....
