Went for a meal last night - superb food together with superb service from Hayley. It was busy but she still managed to treat us like we were the most important customer and had a joke with us. Can't believe she'd only been there 2 weeks as she seemed like she'd been there a long time :-)

User

Not the cheapest place, but the fact is you pay for what you get, and the food is superb and service was great to!

User

My 1st visit here was yesterday (Thursday 26/07/2018) and we was very pleased. Had a brilliant time from start to finish which is in great location. The service was brilliant, the food is amazing and all the staff are all very helpful and friendly. Very reasonable prices for the food and drinks. We enjoyed every second and it was so relaxing which made it perfect. I would definitely recommend a visit to everyone. Will be going back again. Thank you for a lovely visit. Xxx

User

I love this place. Food was amazing and worth every penny. Service was great. A young girl called Hayley served us and was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. This restaurant is always so busy which is a good sign so book in advance.

Can't wait to go back!!

User

First time visit to a Miller & Carter Restaurant and we were very impressed. We had the fantastic value lunch menu and it was delicious, we described ourselves as being in 'food heaven'! Somehow you even managed to make a bread platter taste amazing. It was my partners birthday and although we hadn't drawn attention to this apart from saying we had a prosseco offer his dessert was brought out with a candle and message and this just topped off the meal and showed how attentive our server Lydia was. We can't wait to come back, hopefully on a sunny day to enjoy the beautiful views. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

User

Fantastic food and service I just miss the pulled pork croquette starters and the super food salad needs to be brought back it was my favourite.

User

Didn’t book just walked in at 7 in the evening had a great table for two in the window with fine views. Service was friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. Food was great, exactly as ordered and served promptly. Cannot fault the staff for their excellent service.

User

Amazing food and excellent service.

We had 4 starters between 2 of us, a chateau briand and a sharer dessert platter.

Including drinks £106 well worth it 😋

User

Went there for partners mum's birthday, the place is lovely and the food excellent.

The only niggle is that there is no set gluten free menu, unlike the other set menus available.

As my partner is coelaic and requires a gluten free diet, we always either pay a price premium or the selection is poor. At least there is a good selection there.

The kicker is her three courses cost around £15 more than my excellent set menu.

Went for Date night last night Fri 2nd March

Served by Megan who was friendly efficient & helpful :-) .

We had Garlic bread to nibble on whilst having a cocktail & beer

For mains I had a lovely half rack of Ribs with fries & colslaw £11.95 ( This was recommended by the waitress Megan as i was undecided between that and Rump steak ) good choice :-) and hubby had bacon & cheese burger with Sweet potato fries £11.50 . We then had 2 desserts with cappuccinos £4.95 each which I loved the deal of this as it was a small desert with any choice of hot drink :-) during the meal I had large house white & hubby another beer all in all total bill of £60 .

Atmosphere nice decor nice food tasty excellent service 10/10 . Food and price 7 /10 bit expensive for what you get . We had drinks in the bar area after the meal the bar area could do with being bit more cosy and inviting just stayed for 1 as it's bit pricy on drinks and not really a lively atmosphere to stay for drinking . Overall 7/10 .

User

First time at a Miller and Carter last night. The choice was amazing so much so our lovely waitress Erin guided us through it,. Skipped starters and went straight for the mains we both had the grain fed ribeye which was cooked to perfection and so tasty, for desserts I had the lemon posset with rose curd and hubby had classic Creme brûlée. Drinks were 2 cocktails and 2 glasses of Rose, liqueur coffee and chamomile tea. Would we go back - most definitely but might try The Royal Albert Dock next time.

from away to go to wrightington hospital, tea on way back. told to get drinks while a table was sorted, took so long for the first people in front to get theirs we didn't have chance to order any. took ages to get an order, drinks took forever to arrive, plenty of staff around...some too busy on the phones when we finally got starters, sister's sticky chicken were far too fatty and slightly pink! she's not fussy but couldn't touch that and told them to take it away salad was half dead aswell on the plate. no 'dressed slaw' on cluck and duck wings.took staff ages to clear starter plates..mains 3 steaks came supposed to be med rare, were all rare. couldn't be bothered by now we'd been there that long we just ate them, in the meantime seeing staff disappear to play on there phones. it wasnt that busy either, it was a monday night. me and my husband have visited quite a few Miller and Carter restaurants probably around 6! this one by far let the chain down. especially for what you pay.we were all dissapointed. such a shame..

User

Went here 2 weeks ago, and the girl manager was really rude, had no customer service manners what so ever, the girl that waited on are table was lovely, we let it pass, till the next day we returned and the same manager was on, it was 4pm the sun was shinning sunday afternoon, asked if we could sit out side as there was plenty of tables, she said no were not serving out side, there was 6 booths empty so ask could we sit in one of them, she said no, there closed, so i told her what i thought of her, and left,

User

This was a very highly recommended place as both my sister and my son had visited for both their anniversaries and even my own parents will be visiting for theirs next month however, I can only give it 3* as it was an anniversary meal, we asked for a window seat they put us next to a doorway where ppl went for a cig not very impressed as we don't smoke and I had to crane my neck around to see any of the so called spectacular views. Food was lovely and it was expensive so disappointed by the seating See below comments for photos

Went to Miller and Carter on saturday night with my fiancee for our 9 year anniversary and it was a disaster, starters were good but waited forever for our mains, i ordered 2 fillet steaks 1 medium and 1 medium rare, my medium rare came cooked well done so i sent it back and sat for 20 minutes watching my partner eating and completely finished her meal before my new steak came to my table with cool chips and cold onion rings, i gave up and asked for the manager who was very good and apologetic he gave us a free drink and took my meal off the bill but i still ended up with a bill of £66.00 the waitress was abit sharp with us too. It will be a while should we decide to go back so i give 1 star on my review.

User

Went last weekend, before my arse crack had even touched the seat i was asked what drink i wanted. Half of my starter arrived, i asked where the other half was & had a stroppy woman huffing & puffing because she had to go & get the rest. It was like a scene from Kevin & Perry, the Rump steak was like trying to eat my fellas old leather work boot, i explained to the waiter that it was inedible & her classic reply... Well it was a rump wasnt it. Yes it was a rump but does that mean its suppose to be that tough that you can't get your molars through it? Never again, went for a pub lunch at the brocket in wigan last night & the steak there was a million times better.

User

Service was poor, table not ready, Childs burger on a red hot plate and it was burnt, medium steak requested it was rare sent it back and it was still rare it took over 2 half hours to feed 7 adults and a child with two courses ! They deducted £60 off bill Its not rocket science it's a steak house sadly not recommended

User

Graduation day ruined by awful service. Came to celebrate my twin sister’s (both me and her 22) graduation along with my two parents for a family meal. Refused to serve my sister aged 22 wine, even though I pre- booked the table for her graduation on their records and had parents with us. Didn’t take ID as parents are with us so and obviously over 16 so didn’t see a problem! Served me without ID and I’m her twin sister. Showed them proof of graduation photos along with a voucher given to us both for Miller and Carter for our 21st birthday. Ruined the whole occasion and resulted in my sister feeling embarrassed, upset and anxious after a stressful graduation day. 0 common sense and felt really unwelcome so got up and left. Will never return.

User

First time visiting miller and carter lunch time Wednesday 21st, we were waiting around to be seated by staff, after waiting 15 minutes, baring in mind it was empty, I asked the 2 male staff working behind the bar, "do you help yourself to a table", he very rudely laughed and said no, we then waited a further 5 minutes for him to finish his jobs then come over to seat us, which is appalling, I love my steak cooked medium normally. However being heavily pregnant I asked for well done, it certainly did not come well done, after complaining and told it had been cooked well done i decided not to eat it, after what was suppose to be a quick 1 hour lunch, we left 2 and a half hours later because of such slow service (baring in mind they had a total of 6 customers)

Not the cheapest place, but the fact is you pay for what you get, and the food is superb and service was great to!

Xxx

I love this place. Food was amazing and worth every penny. Service was great. A young girl called Hayley served us and was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. This restaurant is always so busy which is a good sign so book in advance.

Can't wait to go back!!
