Adult Acting Workshops with Suzanne Hall - Actress & Drama Coach

Was with this agency for three years near from when they first started. AMAZING experience. Only had to leave as I moved back to Hull and couldn't commit to the work anymore.

Nothing but fantastic words to say. All the staff there genuinely look out for you and have your best interests at heart. Will always be honest and upfront about jobs with you and stay true to what they say. Most importantly they listen.

In very rare occurrences, you can end up meeting rude people on set and getting spoken to poorly. After having a really bad experience with an individual on a production set, Mark and the team quick worked with me to find out what had happened and resolve the matter. They could have sat back and done nothing, but the team at Mint look out after all of their artists and I couldn't have been happier with the stuff I worked on whilst I was there!

User

Very professional, very friendly and a joy !

User

Recently signed to mint and so glad to be part of the team look forward to the new year ahead on working with some amazing new people.

Mint is a very professional and well regarded Agency with friendly and efficient staff. They do expect high standards from people who work for them but surely that's a good thing. I've had some amazing jobs and worked with lots of wonderful "Minties" ... keep up the good work everyone concerned!

User

From the off, more bookings than I can handle! Absolutely loving it. So Friendly and professional. And so so helpful. Can't thank them enough so far! Brilliant!!

User

Communication & Trust is two things I have always been promised by this agency and have delivered on every single occasion. Never messed about by any of the crew there and it is made clear how to progress if you feel you want too. Worked with some much loved TV shows and also gained immeasurable confidence and experience from/with these wonderful hard working people.

User

Can’t thank Mint Casting for the opportunities and amount I have learnt about the industry in the 8 weeks I’ve been with the agency! So many castings and jobs in so little time. So excited for the future with this agency. Thank you so much, Sam x

User

Been with Mint a year now and have had regular and varied work. I also attend the workshops which are fantastic x

User

As it was my first casting I was slightly nervous and unsure what to expect. However Mint and Mark in particular were fantastic. The information provided both before and during the shoot was extremely helpful and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

User

Are you a teen actor with a driving license with a passion for acting and if your a retiree that's a fan of television then mint casting is for you if you like the idea of being on the TV then I think that mint is a great company to work for.

Mark, Nic and Nathan are truly great at their jobs and are true professionals so if you fancy a small career at a shy of being in adverts or in the background in front of the rovers return then mint can put your their

Even though I'm not with them any more I am so great full for everything they did for me and I hope they continue to grow larger and more popular with every passing day

Thank for everything mark, Nic and Nathan and I hope you continue to be Mint (no pun intended).

User

Amazing place but having traveled 220 odd miles a hot meal would have been nice ,but bib not go for that it was a good tour .

User

Very poor agency, they have favourites and if you step out of line with Mark he holds jobs back. Thankfully I like others are moving on. If you question him he replies your rude or doesn't like your tone. Been in business for many years last agent retired so thought Mint would be good. Bad idea! Keep all your emails and response is my best advise.

User

Now, let me tell you a story about a casting company, one woman and a rather disappointing experience. It’s quite a long story, I hope it will engage you sufficiently to read to the end.

I had heard great things about Mint Casting so decided to take the plunge. Unfortunately, I didn’t take the time to read the reviews. Make it your first stop. There are some interesting comments and responses.

I suppose being ‘cast’ out into a cold, wet and windy Manchester street upon my initial visit to Mint should have been sufficient warning. Fortunately, there was a shoe shop across the road and the heating was on.... the perils of turning up slightly early for an appointment.

The second lightbulb moment should have sparked at the point of interview. What professional company makes derogatory remarks about the competition? Added to that... everyone I bumped into during my visit and have spoken with since have been successfully signed by Mint, despite Mint claiming to be incredibly selective. Then there’s their T&C’s. I think you can tell a lot about a company by the standard of their legal paperwork.... or lack of reasonable standard in this case.

After signing on the dotted line I was very dubious of ever receiving any work from Mint, but... I was wrong. I was given two jobs in eleven weeks (despite applying for many for which I fitted the ‘brief’ to a tee). This suggests; (a) I was wholly delusional, (b) Mint have a huge pool of artists to choose from, or (c) Mint have a pool of ‘preferred’ artists. Messaging several Mint artists and judging by what I had seen with my own eyes confirmed the answer as both (b) and (c). Mint take a substantial sum from payment of your first booking, clearly it’s to their great advantage to get as many people as possible one job.... it’s not rocket science.

Upon arrival at my first job, the lady in production was most upset Mint hadn’t provided us (me and one other extra) with the correct information regarding wardrobe. Good job I don’t travel light and had clothes equivalent to a family luggage of six stashed in the car. Further problems arose at the end of the day when production had paperwork for all extras (approximately 20 others) except those supplied by Mint. Worrying.

Insult turned to injury on the day I received payment… there will be no turkey on my Christmas table as a result of my work for Mint. I now know why so many stars talk of their days as starving actors. Payment would barely cover a pack of Aldi own brand Ginger Nuts, in fact Aldi would need an IOU after petrol costs.

Shockingly, paperwork is posted rather than emailed so I don’t yet have any payment breakdown. Mint really do use snail mail (and claim this is cheaper than electronic communication... highly amusing). I'm hoping the payment info arrives before the Christmas cards.

So… moving the story along….

I emailed Mint, my tone polite and professional, courteous and light-hearted. Curt was the initial response…. becoming more argumentative with each email. Amused by the tone and content I wished Mint well and we parted ways.

The moral of the story…..

Do your homework, research, research and more research.

The End.
