This is why I generally avoid using carbon comp resistors. This was in a recently made US boutique amp.

Don't often do straight replicas, but can do when asked. This is a 5E3 Deluxe for Tom. It is fitted with 6V6s, but the updrated transformer means you can put 6L6s in instead, and a GZ34 rectifier.

Graham's Electra Twin. The perfect gigging amp? 30 Watts, 2 channels, valve reverb and dual master volumes. Also has Power Scaling and SDM Zero Loss loop. Can't beat classic black and gold!

This one is for Laurent, and it's quite interesting. An Electra Twin, with facility to run 2 kinds of output valve, a pair of 6L6s or a quad of EL90s. It's about 30W with the 6L6s and about 15W with the EL90s. it has Power Scaling and digital reverb too. Oh, and as if that wasn't enough, a footswitched, post-channel boost for a volume lift while soloing. :)

It's back!! Some of you will remember from way back in 2008 that my prototype Roadstar 36, Martamp #4, was stolen from outside a rehearsal room in Ancoats. Well, recently I was contacted by someone in regard to it, and it's now back home! :) In excellent condition, and working fine, looks hardly used. Now, as I'm not gigging now, I might offer this piece of history for sale as is, or I could rebuild it in a new cabinet and to current MJW spec. Let me know if you're interested in either option.

This is David's Roadstar 18 Reverb. A standard MJW Roadstar with foot-switchable boost, Power Scaling, and valve/spring reverb. Speaker is a G12M Creamback. I use MOD or TAD reverb tanks now as they're more reliable than Accutronics. Resplendent in Emerald Levant and Bluesbreaker grill cloth. :)

Got an audience today. What shall I play?

User

The latest from the MJW workshop is a 'deluxe blues' amp, with a Fender type sound. A pair of 6L6s for 45 Watts, and valve driven spring reverb. Footswitchable drive boost brings in a master volume control. The speaker is a Celestion G12H-75 Creamback. Covered in Tweed, with Oxblood/gold stripe grillcloth. :)

Built 11 years apart, V6-20's #6 and #224. :)

User

Another V6-20.this time for Klaus, in green/gold, much like my own amp. Relatively simple, with Power Scaling, SDM Loop and foot-switchable dual master volumes, but it sounds awesome. All the 60s and 70s Marshall-esque rock and blues you could want at any volume from gig to bedroom. Also a cracking JTM45/Bassman clean, the best pedal platform there is. That's why I've got one! :)

User

Bit nippy in the workshop today! Next job......insulate the roof.

User

The first amp since the restart has shipped. It's a custom Roadstar, 2 channel, with an EF86 clean channel and a Marshall-ish overdrive. Also has valve reverb, Power Scaling and SDM effects loop. Resplendent in burgundy snakeskin! Next on the bench: a V6-20!

User

At last! A pic of something that isn't a workshop...an amp! This is the first MJW of the new era, a Roadstar 18 in Burgundy Snakeskin. Lots to do yet, but nice to be back in the saddle (or on the stool) ;) Two channels, EF86 clean and classic 'M' rock OD channel, with Power Scaling, SDM loop and valve reverb.

User

More to do, but good enough to get back to work now! :)

User

New workshop taking shape. The view's not bad. :)

A big week coming up next week as we finally move into our new house and I can start in my new workshop. Apologies for the delay with amps, but there aren't enough hours in the day at the moment. The new workshop is cleared out, and will be getting a lick of paint over the weekend, and new bench tops are ready to be fitted. I'll be closed next week as every day there's something happening move-wise, and everything will need to be packed up. Wish me luck, and thanks for your patience :)

User

I hope you all had a great Christmas. I've been busy with a house purchase, which involves a new workshop, so I'm looking forward to getting off to a good start in 2018! Thanks for the support I've received in an eventful 2017, and I would like to wish you all a great New Year! 🤩👍

User

Definitely up and running now! New stock ordered, cabinet supplier sourced, business plan drafted, new bank account and most importantly, the first order is in. Several other enquiries and a couple of pending orders. Thanks for the support. 😁👍

long time Roadstar owner/user. Mr MJW produced wonderful high quality amplifiers which in my case seemed to make me sound much better than I really deserve to be ...
