Well, this is a good find - a great tool for clinicians to help people visualise how their treatment for Benign Peripheral Positional Vertigo (BPPV) works. I'll definitely be getting this app.

Invisible illness could affect any one of us at any time. I have several friends with M.E. and knew many before it developed. So I know they are not weak-willed, or lazy, or swinging the lead. They are courageous and determined, but too often floored by their condition.
Please read this and share to help spread better understanding:

Since I've been helping the cast & crew to stay on their feet for the season, how could I resist indulging in a little panto magic?
An afternoon of hilarious laughter with friends and family. Great fun, great music, lots of talent. Well done all!
If you haven't had your panto fix for the year, get yourself to Theatre Clwyd before the season's out. LAST SHOW 19TH JAN!

My clinic room for the afternoon - where the cast of Dick Whittington 'hang out' between performances.
Setting the panto tone beautifully I think. 😂
Theatr Clwyd Panto, running til 19th Jan...

Season's greetings everyone!

Some good news for sprout lovers! I'm having mine fried up with garlic, ginger and soy sauce... yum!

Trying to get your head around persistent pain? - this explains it really well.

Not just for preventing tinnitus and hearing loss:
High fidelity earplugs can help anyone who struggles to cope in busy noisy environments - if you have M.E, MIGRAIN, CHRONIC VERTIGO, ACQUIRED BRAIN INJURY, or any other chronic health condition that affects your concentration.
They reduce distressing background noise whilst still allowing you to hear conversation.

Should I still be going line dancing? - Yes! Am I ok to keep bowling? - Yes! Do you think I should stop swimming? - No!
If you CAN do it, KEEP doing it. Especially if it brings you joy 😄
... But if you've had to take a break and you don't feel able any more, physio can help you build your strength/mobility/fitness to get back to the things you love.

Struggling to keep your balance? Experiencing dizziness with movement?
Copy and paste the following link to my information leaflet, explaining how the inner ear balance system works, what can go wrong, how physio can help:

Do our beliefs about pain affect our recovery?
I can honestly say I have never had a patient take me through this thought process:
"I've injured my finger and now it hurts to bend it or lift anything.... Bending my finger and gripping/lifting must be bad for me. From now on I will always have to avoid bending my finger or lifting anything with this hand."
But swap finger/hand for 'back'...

Sun's shining. Lots of miles in car today. Brisk power walk around the lake between clients; perfect antidote.

“Movement is essential for every aspect of our health. Our bodies are designed to move, and not doing so is harmful to our health, muscles and joints. As we become older, this can also increase the risk of falling,” says physiotherapist and CSP professional advisor, Fran Hallam.

When I recommended rolling his foot over a cold jar to relieve his plantar fasciitis, I didn't expect my husband to use a full one! - But if you're looking for tips to loosen a tight jar lid...

A worrying trend.
20% decrease in muscle strength and a 30% decrease in muscle endurance in 10-year-olds between1998 and 2014. The pace of decline is increasing.
Kids need rough and tumble to develop - not just muscles but bone strength, co-ordination, balance...
... Soft play, local parks, trim trails, encourage a sport that they love, dance around the house, wrestle with them. Get them carrying shopping, hoovering. Let them climb trees. And here's a newsflash - children need to fall over to stimulate their balance systems, it's all part of normal development.
