Visited for my Fathers Day meal . Food was really good and the young staff waiting on were excellent. Really looked after us and made a fuss of the kids . Will definitely be back đź‘Ť

The waitress with the spikey blond hair was the most friendly and informative member of staff you could ever wish to be served by. It was a pleasure to see that someone was so happy to help. I would recommend this place for food or even just to get a drink ďż˝ x

Thanks to the Landlady Mo and all the staff for the excellent service yesterday. You all did my late father, Cliff proud. If he could have been there he would have loved it. Thanks once again, you guys are the best. John x

My friends and I called in for our tea, what a lovely place, the staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was lovely, We all had something different and definitely no complaints, spot on, the deserts were beautiful. We will be calling in again and will highly recommend to friends and family.

Love this pub. Staff are friendly, food is well priced and great quality and the general aesthetic is beaut - especially the outside area which is great during this hot spell. Highly recommended!

Yes I know it’s a pub, but the food, service & presentation were really good, the bitter was excellent and the staff were very friendly, polite, & happy, how many times have you been in a bar, served by stroppy staff, decor was very nice, won’t be the last time we go here

User

My dad can only manage small portions of food, since having his stomach removed and ordering from the children menu wasn't an issue, he choose cheese and onion pie with chips and beans, he really enjoyed it, my husband had the steak baguette again really nice and good since portion, I had the Cajun salmon on a warm salad, tasty and a nice change,

Food was lovely and the staff were very polite I would consider eating at morning star again.

Sunday lunch was lovely apart from cauliflower being very undercooked. Me and my partner was going to get a 2 course Sunday lunch, but then to be told as I was about to pay, only choice was soup and lunch, no choice of starter or dessert. This is not very well advertised. The children’s menu wasn’t the best, there was no children’s desserts at all. I had to buy my 2 year old, 3 scoops of ice cream which obviously she couldn’t eat. I did ask if it it was possible just to have a single scoop, I was told no.

We had a lovely meal a few weeks ago but unfortunately, our experience was not repeated this second visit. My meal was fine but my wife's was really awful. Toad in the hole is supposed to be crispy batter with sausages in it. What was served yesterday was a soggy, undercooked mess covered with gravy. Even without the gravy the batter was undercooked. The meal was replaced by fish and chips. This was again, undercooked batter, wet and soggy except on the outside. It was disgusting. My wife was left with a very small piece of fish to eat. Whatever type of fish is being used, it has an awful taste although we've had these meals in other Holt's pubs and they were fine. We regularly eat at The Blue Bell in Whitefield and have never had cause for complaint in the twelve months we've been going.

Sorry but it's unlikely we'll be visiting The Morning Star again.

Just been for our tea, unlike previous visits the food was awfull.

My wifes burger was burnt, chips were under cooked and cold. Bacon was undercooked, she did say her minute amount of coleslaw was nice.

My fish was overcooked and dripping with fat, beans were dry and burnt, same undercooked cold chips,

Total waste of money,
