Morpheus Glass Description
Morpheus Glass in Lancashire produces bespoke and original fused glass artwork and kitchen splashbacks designed by leading fused glass artist Stephanie Bowen.
Fused glass is unique, no two pieces can ever be the same. My fascination with colour and patterns always shows through in the fused glass I produce. Organic lines and blended colours form the basis of my designs. Every choice I make, every individual element, each piece of metal I place and every different colour I add all combine in the firing process, reacting in the kiln between layers of fused glass to result in the finished work.
What I love most about the techniques I use and this incredible material combined is that they ensure originality every time, each and every bubble adds its own unique stamp on each piece. Fused glass has an unusual charming and addictive quality. The way it looks different in different lights, the way in which light can pass through it creating the most incredible reflections of the colours within it, the beauty of the delicate colours and the impact of the strong bold bright colours, the scope for designs within it, the possibilities are endless. The more I see it and work with it the more I learn, it never fails to surprise me.
I enjoy exploring new ideas, it's a personal journey, developing my ideas, techniques and myself in order to keep my ideas fresh and exciting. My work develops naturally, as if on a cycle, one thing leads to another, usually with a fairly smooth transition. Every time a new collection is born there are always elements of the previous collection in it, I take my favourite parts of one to make another, always trying to improve and learn from previous experience.

Wow, lovely shop, friendly team & amazing bespoke pieces!
We visited the cafe on the weekend to meet up with friends, what can I say about the experience - friendly staff, lovely choice of food - especially the mushroom soup - plenty of cakes to choose from all washed down with a proper cuppa. In a relaxed and friendly environment. We took our baby and there was enough room for our pushchair and baby change facilities (which were lovely and clean). The gallery offers a unique buying experience to the area buying British made products alongside the owners hand made glass. Got a great unique present for an upcoming wedding which I'm sure no one else will have got for the newly weds!! I would definitely recommend a visit. We will be go again as will our friends xx
Morpheous Glass is an outstanding product , unique, bespoke fused glass made to the highest of standards.
The move by Stephanie and Ian to expand their busness has not detracted from that in any way. Love it gallery is a new venture for them that is still developing and growing. We loved the new place, so light and what a joy to see work by other, like minded, British craftspersons. They have opened up their customer base by adding attractive, complimentary products. The 'Bag and Bean' is a wonderful idea. Lovely brews. Lovely cakes, Friendly staff. For me it's extends my browsing and decision making time. I can apreciate that there are still working on the premises to get things just right for themselves but Well Done Morpheous Glass. Keep up the good work.
