We're trying something new .......
From Sunday 29th July the tea room will be closed on Sundays but open for private hire parties only.
As we are a family run business with a small team and Mummys of young children, we have tried to find a way to have the work/life balance along with meeting our customers needs.
... We have a lot of requests for celebrations to be held at the tea room on a Sunday and due to our size we don't taking bookings for parties over 12 ppl during a day as we don't like our other customers to feel like they are gatecrashing somebody else's celebration ­¤śé.
So with this in mind we are now able to accommodate 2 private hire parties every Sunday. One at 12.30-3pm and one at 5-7.30pm.
We hope the customers that like to call on a Sunday understand and we do hope your able to visit us on an alternative day.

Wonderful afternoon tea.amazing cakes ,tea and sandwiches...staff were great making room for a wheelchair x’┐Į

Went with my granddaughter and g/granddaughter from going in they had a table and a high chair ready for us food was lovely so was the coffee very friendly staff will visit again x

Went for the first time yesterday with my sister in law, absolutely loved it, the food,real tea an lovely staff, would definitely recommend x

We recently bought a birthday cake ( the Harry Potter cake) for our daughter Amanda's 15th birthday it was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you Mr's Lyon's tea rooms you made a big girl very happy.

We didn't book, it looked a very busy lunchtime but we were welcomed & shown to a table straightaway. Enjoyed a fabulous afternoon tea which arrived very quickly, nothing was too much trouble. Everything was fresh and succulent. Mrs Lyons knows about customer service, unlike lily & arthur's.

Took my mum and dad here on mothers day, all of us absolutely loved it.

We had the indulgent afternoon tea, every part of it was lovely!

The cakes were all amazing, it was a massive struggle to pick one, went with the double chocolate and was not disappointing.

Also all staff were really nice, attentive but not overbearing, will definitely be visiting again.

Took mum for a Mother's Day treat. ....Afternoon tea was amazing and the chunky sandwiches were so tasty. Finished off with the biggest cake and a proper cup of tea in a china cup . Will definately be visiting again! ­¤Ź░­¤Ź¬ŌśĢ’ĖÅ

Really good service with food made freshly to order. Best afternoon tea in the northwest puts other places to shame. Will defiantly be returning. Well done to the owners

IŌĆÖve also been for afternoon tea here and itŌĆÖs always delicious. A lovely member of staff sorted a bigger table for us when we rocked up with prams having forgotten to mention them when booking ’┐Į. Highly recommend this place.

I ordered my daughter's birthday cake and I can only describe it as amazing... it was a chocolate sponge which was unbelievably moist with butter cream filling and topping.. I'm 2 days in from picking up the cake and it's still as moist as the day I picked it up.

Will only be coming here for cakes in the future,

Everything was delicious (too many cakes to choose from!), our families benefited from the cake boxes we took home as we were so full. A lovely tea room with equally lovely staff. Thank you.
