In 1966 Yoko & John met for the first time at her Unfinished Paintings and Objects exhibition at the Indica Gallery in London.
When told he would have to pay to вҖҳHammer a NailвҖҷ, he offered imaginary money to hammer an imaginary nail. Yoko has said she was infuriated at their first meeting, when John took a bite out of the apple she was displaying as a work of art.
You can discover more about John & Yoko in their own words in our Double Fantasy exhibition.

We loved this museum, fantastic exhibits. Highly recommend

User

We had a fantastic afternoon there March 2018. 2 adults and 2 6-year-old children.

Plenty to see and do. So much to learn about Liverpool history and cultural influences right up to present day.

Children loved the kids activity area and the archeology crafts in the education room.

Excellent layout and provision for wheelchair users.

Like all Liverpool museums, entrance is free but please make a donation if you visit to keep these wonderful facilities going.

User

One of the most interesting and innovative museums I have ever visited. So much to see, and lots of interactive displays to get involved in. You could go several times and still find things you might have missed on previous visits.

It's the 1st time I've ever been Liverpool and I learned a lot about Liverpool how it made sugar and world war 1 and 2 and how trains was like from Liverpool I would recommend it to everyone and it's good that's it free

It was date day on Sunday 22nd April for me and my partner. We came over from Seacombe on the Mersey Ferry and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We both found the museum very educational and weвҖҷve learnt a lot. The museum was very big and spacious which is what I like. The only thing IвҖҷm disappointed in with is I collect fridge magnets and my partner was unable to buy one for me- we looked for Liverpool museum one.

User

I'd love to visit your museum. My book 'Intermission a Place in Time' involves the Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers and post WW2. It won an award. (Gerry rented our house in Leasowe when we moved to Wales.) The cover of my book is a ticket I picked up at sixteen after their concert at the Tower ballroom. I went to art school with John Lennon having won an art scholarship at fifteen.

Keep up the good work!

User

I love the Museum of Liverpool. the great place to visit when you come to Liverpool city!!

User

Full of interesting information and artefacts. Lots of different sections to give many perspectives on Liverpool. The only drawback one of the staff started shouting at everybody to leave around 16.45. Not very pleasant. Maybe could do with being open in the evening some days.

Overall informative , dedicated space for young children, well positioned and very enjoyable.
