Myers Tree Care

Today we had a tight squeeze, working for Ian Mann Funeral Services in Marple Bridge, removing a Norway Fir. So glad we have mini me to fit in these places. Nissan Cabstar, the best vehicle ever made.

Today’s task was to dismantle this rather large pine, that had fallen victim to the beast from the East. Quite challenging, even with the MEWP, we managed it slowly but surely and with no dramas. Well done team Myers!!!

Buzz is trying his hand at Rugby today, whilst we finish loading timber from yesterday’s felling work with Cheshire Trees.

Another one of my favourite work site / clients today, firstly, the removal of some storm damaged trees within a beautiful little woodland and then onto the main garden. Various jobs were carried out, removal of deadwood being the main operation, (over a late 14th Century Crook Barn), where it is reputed that John Wesley (founder of the Methodist Movement) had preached, doesn’t get much better than that. Buzz also passed his Cherry Picker course, with flying colours!

One of today’s job, was the crown reduction of a storm damaged Beech tree with a very un-balanced crown that needed to be re-shaped to reduce the mechanical loading on the lower damaged stem.

One of today’s job, which was pure therapy for me. I wasn’t looking forward to this job, but thoroughly loved the challenge. Fastigiate Hornbeams are very difficult to reduce in height and width without leaving them looking worse for wear. Feeling well accomplished with the results!

Sad time for the Myers team, my beloved Chester passed last Thursday. Chester had 15 glorious years with us and saw the business grow, he loved nothing more than being in the back of the pickup or upfront in the cab, customers far and wide loved him and we will all miss him.

Well 21 years today, I started a journey to establish Myers Tree Care, bought a saw on account (which scared the hell out of me, £450) and after a lot of hard work and help from many people, here we are today. Very proud of what’s been achieved and the solid name we now carry within the industry, but would I do it again? No I would go and cut grass like Forest Gump!😂😂😂

Massive well done to the team today for going above and beyond, in very trying conditions and weather. Job done and the site has been handed back to a very happy client!!!👍👍

A busy day for the team yesterday on update training for the MEWP and teamed up with Arbtec from sunny Bolton. A very informative and interested day, with special thanks to Peter Douglas Platforms for attending too.
