Fantastic day at Elm Wood Primary School last week - we created a mini habitat area, a butterfly garden and a herb bed as well as some bird feeders! Lots of enthusiastic wildlife gardeners in our midst, good to see :)

Well the efforts of us all at Chinley Primary School to encourage wildlife in their pond is paying dividends - brief survey on Monday produced tadpoles, froglets, water hoglouse, whirligig beetles, aquatic worms, caddis fly larvae and very infant newts! Not great crested but we love them all :) we don't really want to disturb the young life at this time of year byt later in the summer should give us equally fantastic results. If any schools out there are interested in creating a wildlife pond and/or finding out what's in it, drop us a line!

First Sheffield Nature Explorers birthday party on Sunday, whoop! We're making birds nests, doing a nature hunt, lots of games with a wildlife twist and finish off with mud fairies for our lovely trees :)

We also provide a variety of activities for schools including creating wildlife gardens, nature walks and pond dipping; all activities tie in with the National Curriculum.
