Taziker Industrial’s works on the iconic Cutty Sark Bridge in North Lanarkshire are now complete. The structure will be re-opened once the scaffolding has been removed and our compound cleared. The refurbishment to the structure was the biggest since it was built in 1932; ensuring significant maintenance will not be needed for another 25 years. Works on the Cutty Sark bridge, spanning 37 metres above the A8 at Bargeddie, has been ongoing for 20 weeks. To avoid road closures, ...whilst meeting the logistical challenges of working at height; the work was delivered in two halves. Including, a bespoke scaffold system using our access division Network Scaffolding Contractors Ltd, encapsulation to the structure, grit blasting, cleaning, steelworks, and repainting. The steelworks on the bridge was painted Basalt Grey to match the neighbouring bridge over the new section of the recently completed M8 Motorway. It was painted using a three-coat system which protects the existing and new metal work from corrosion and provides a durable high-quality aesthetic finish. The bridge will no longer have any advertising against it, so as not to detract from the finish delivered during the refurbishments. Take a look at Network Rail Scotland's, video from South Esk Viaduct. Taziker Industrial are proud to be involved on this structure. The project will see major refurbishments to one of the last Wrought Iron Bridges. The 16 span (section), 440metres, category B listed structure stands on 15 pairs of wrought iron piers above the River Esk at the mouth of the Montrose Basin. The project has been encapsulated to protect the River Esk from any contamination during our grit, blast ...and painting stages and further steelworks. Taziker Industrial along with our access division Network Scaffolding Contractors Ltd have created a bespoke scaffold system and walkway to carry out the planned works safely. The logistical challenges of working at height above a river, means the Taziker Industrial and Network Rail teams will have to work within the harsh realities of winter in an exposed coastal location. This has meant TI have had to plan stages of encapsulation and limit the effects of wind loading on the structure. Many of our skills have been transferrable from our previous work with Network Rail on project such as Tay Bridge and Royal Albert Bridge which had a similar environment. https://vimeo.com/234322486

The Superstructure carries a Railway line linking Perth to Inverness.
This is a full 360m suspended scaffold, with 2 10kN Loading Bays rising 32m in height.

Duties will include: - Regular stock take of materials - Signing plant in/out daily - Managing servicing/repairs of plant and equipment · Ensuring yard is kept organised and tidy · Restocking scaffold materials returned from site · Loading lists of materials onto bed wagons for delivery to nationwide sites · Servicing materials and fittings · Managing yard operatives (3 No.)
