What an amazing county Cumbria is !! Its is fantastic to be shortlisted with 11 other Cumbrian businesses in the Rural Business Awards and highlight the very best of Cumbria on a national platform. Looking forward to cheering you all on at the awards presentation in October.

We have had the pleasure of welcoming Threlkeld Brownies and Rainbows into Rookery Woods this evening. The girls were very well behaved and showed some great team work. Well done 👍

After our Highly Commended at the Cumbria Tourism Awards this week we are delighted to be shortlisted for another award!! We are in the final three of the Rural Business Awards - The North’s Best Rural Recreational or Outdoor Pursuits Business 2018 / 2019. Have to wait until October to find out if we have won.
The North region covers all of Scotland and down to Cheshire and there are 10 other Cumbian businesses shortlisted as well our ourselves - what an amzing county we ...live and work in.

Keswick Climbing Wall now accepts Lake District Pounds !

The annual Sale Harriers Newlands Bake Off competition was decided this morning. The theme this year was "afternoon tea" and the members produced a fine selection of cakes, biscuits, cookies, muffins, savouries and confection. Judging was not easy and Tina and Kinga had their work cut out trying to decide the top 3. They finally decided on the following top 4: 4th - a plate of strawberry macarons, 3rd - a 3 tier mini afternoon tea 2nd - golden chocolate muffins 1st - sti...cky pineapple cake Well done to all the bakers and I am sure that all entries will be consumed over the weekend !

We love running courses here at Newlands. Great venue & location, always very clean and cosy. Great food and very helpful staff. We will be back in April!

Try the ghyll scrambling - it was brill, especially Dan, out very knowledgable guide.

Thanks to all the staff at Newlands, James and Jack had a great couple of days. Ghyll scrambling with Ben, rock climbing with Emma and kayaking with Jake were all fantastic. Thanks again, we’ll be back!

Thank you Newlands for our fabulous wedding reception. Stunning location of course. But on top of that the Centre and grounds were immaculate and the food was amazing. It was a wonderful, stress free, happy day! Definitely recommended! xxx

Spent an amazing afternoon Ghyll scrambling, our guide Emma encouraged all of us to man up and to take the difficult route - she was fantastic, highly recommended :)

My year 6 class (and all the staff too) loved every minute of their first residential trip to Newlands this week! What wonderful staff and fun activities - a perfect trip! Thank you so much and we will see you next year!

My son has just come back from a school residential. Loved every minute of it. He said the instructors were amazing. The food scrumptious. He's so happy that he did all the activities, ghyll scrambling was his fave. Thank you to all the instructors and staff for making his week amazing. Definitely a trip he will remember for ever.

My daughter has just returned from a weekend here, part of the group from north west diabetes, she has had an absolutely fantastic time and said the instructors are amazing, thanks for looking after her and all the young people this weekend, apparently they are already organising to come back next year! X

Just come back from weekend in the Lake District booked ghyl scrambling at new lands adventure centre for me and my grandson, and a friend and his son, we all had a Fantasic afternoon, loved it thanks Brian who looked after us all afternoon top bloke would recommend this to anyone for a great day out cheers from Martin, Ellis,Steve and Niall x

Highly recommend Ghyll Scrambling.Jumping off waterfalls into plunge pools and scrambling down Stoneycroft Ghyll was amazing and great fun.

Had a brilliant day at Newlands Adventure centre with a group of young people from North copeland youth partnership, high Ropes in the morning and Ghyll Scrambling in the afternoon .The centre is in a fabulous location and the activitys were fun and exiting . Thanks to Dan for looking after us all .

Great afternoon spent here yesterday, my two kids aged 8 and 11 really enjoyed the activities on offer. Full credit to our instructor john.

Excellent venue in a beautiful setting with very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. As Matt says amazing food too!

Excellent place and happy memories of holidays spent here in the early 80's. Set in a gorgeous valley with wonderful walks on the doorstep.
