Throughout 2019 I have had the privilege of leading a number of Ceremonies, helping families and friends to say goodbye to a loved one and cherished soul.
Losing someone you love can often be the hardest and loneliest place you have ever visited in your heart and we often do it alone.
But you are not alone, we have all been gifted with beautiful memories that can never be taken away from us, and from these we can draw that inner strength to carry on, just as they would want u...s to do.
They are our light when it gets dark, the extra breath we need when we feel weary and exhausted, and the one person we can share our thoughts with silently, without being judged.
Hold your memories close, but don' be afraid to share them either, as we head into 2020.

A friend of mine has just reminded me that today is, All Souls Day. For those of us that have lost someone, please offer a silent thought or prayer to them today, of all days.

I have been writing a funeral service today whilst listening to random music in the background, when I heard an advert highlighting the plight of elderly people that live on their own, and sometimes don't physically speak to people for weeks through no fault of their own. With the onset of winter coming and shorter daylight hours, wouldn't it be good just say hello to someone like this, I'm sure we all know a person that doesn't live too far from us, a smile and a hello cost nothing, but could mean the world to someone else.

What a rewarding moment This morning was a special time for a local family who have suffered a long wait to have their loved ones ashes interred in a place of their choosing. Now they will be able to come and visit this sacred ground and be at peace with their loved one. They have been let down and had a number of false promises to help them over the years, until Funeral Director Jill Glencross was contacted to see if she could help, and support the families wishes. Jill orga...nised it in just a short space of time, and this morning just looking at the relief and joy on the families faces just told you, you had just made their wishes come true and been part of a healing process. Now they can finally start to grieve properly.
Well done Jill, and thank you for inviting me to be part of it that special moment for the family.

Always lovely to receive a card from a family that were pleased with the service you provided them with.

Just reflecting on the last couple of months and the families l have had the pleasure of supporting. I have met and heard stories of some remarkable people and the lives they lived. I have also witnessed the professionalism and commitment to these families by the Funeral Directors and their teams that think nothing of going the extra mile for them. It’s a great feeling knowing you have done your very best for someone, especially when they pass you in the Street some moths later, shake your hand and talk about the service and the comfort it still gives them.

Had the pleasure of working with Nihal’s Family for both his Cremation Ceremony and to lay to rest both his wife’s and his Ashes, after 20 years of them being apart. if there was a love story to melt cold hearts it’s was theirs. Thank so much for the card, and kind words and it was my privilege to support you at this time. He left this world knowing he was truly loved,

Just performed a funeral ceremony in Carlisle where the family had written 2 of the most heartfelt poems your likely to come across, a beautiful tribute to a much loved man. Well done

Just had a great couple of days in Surbiton with the FPC on a families course. Claire Bradford Celebrant of the year was the facilitator and you can clearly see why she won that award. I met some lovely like minded people on the course and felt very privileged to be in their company.

I had the privilege of presenting the John Sanderson Ceremony yesterday, and it was one of the most moving tributes a family could have prepared. He was very much loved and it was clear to all how much he will be missed. Special thanks to Jill Glencross FD from Dalston Chapel of Rest for her undivided support to the family and Amanda Linden from the Crematorium Office for assisting with the music choices.

Conducted a ceremony today, that was an absolute privilege and joy, and at one stage l was struggling to hold back my emotions as the family were the nicest people l have ever had the pleasure of meeting, their story was pleasure to put together and tell. I would also like to thank the family for their kind words after the ceremony and the beautiful card
