The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society are holding an awareness week (17 - 23 June 2019) ☺️
The subject this year is #AnyoneAnyAge
Those with Rheumatoid Arthritis get reactions like β€˜β€™Aren’t you too young for that?’’ or β€˜β€™My Granny has that’’ or even β€˜β€™I have a bit of that in my knees’’.
... So, let’s stop the misconceptions and educate ourselves about Rheumatoid Arthritis.
- Anybody, any age can have Rheumatoid Arthritis - It is an auto-immune condition which in addition to your joints, can affect internal organs such as the heart, lungs and eyes. - It means your immune system, which usually fights infection, attacks the cells that line your joints by mistake, making the joints swollen, stiff & painful.
For more information, head to the NRAS website or head to https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Rheumatoid- Arthritis/ 🌐
