We adopt an 'integrative' approach, which is underpinned by the highest standards in ethical and research-informed practice, allowing clients to achieve their greatest potential using an approach co-created to meet individual or organisational needs. We believe every person is individual, and has the capacity to fully realise their unique qualities and strengths.

Experienced psychologists and psychotherapists Dr. Matthew Shorrock and Francesca Shorrock are the founders of Oak Tree Therapy, Training & Research Institute (known as The Mind Institute, across Europe (www. themindinstitute. at). With offices in Manchester [UK] , and Vienna [Austria] , they specialise in offering quality services in psychotherapy, coaching, organisational consultancy, supervision and training.

In recent years, 'Oak Tree' has flourished following numerous invitations to offer consultancy and professional psychological commentary for British television and radio programs. With a highly skilled and fully qualified team of therapists and consultants to support them, Matt and Francesca also enjoy running their popular private practice, writing books, and post-doctoral research in counselling and coaching psychology.


In partnership with the University of Manchester, Oak Tree is delighted to introduce Kasia Wilk, an experienced psychotherapist, counselling psychologist in advanced clinical training, and doctoral researcher. Kasia works with individuals, couples and groups (adults and children), and has a special interest in cultural diversity. Kasia also offers an on-line service, seeing clients via SKYPE, telephone, email etc. , at a discounted fee.

We are also very honoured to have Laura Ann Douglas as the latest senior member of our UK team. With extensive experience in the corporate sector, in managing and developing people, Laura is a very competent therapist, supervisor and trainer of therapists. With a strong background in CBT, NLP and person-centred therapies, Laura also offers life-coaching and executive coaching.
