always when I have to visit my dr witch is only every 12 moths besides another couple of times I was always treaded brilliant by my dr and staff. they always contact me after my annual blood test if they find anything, I self medicate witch a lot of older people don't but saying that, cannot fault the dr's or staff that work there and may I say work very hard on our behalf , keep up the good work

This medical practice is fantastic. Each doctor takes the time to listen to your issues and never pressures you into making a decision. Dr Gatenby is amazing, she has really helped me this year with so much. Staff on reception are very friendly and always try to fit you in where they can. I would highly recommend this surgery to anyone.

User

Since joining the surgery over 8yrs ago, i can honestly hand on heart say that the gp's and staff have treated me and my partner with nothing but helpful, kindness.

I wouldnt ever change surgerys as we have built up great relations with both staff and doctors.

Id recomend them to anybody as they have been brill with me..

User

I was treated with the best medical care .. Dr Sean Cusack is the best GP i have ever seen, he tries everything to make me better despite me having many medical conditions. He us a credit to this surgery and to making my health as best as he can. All in all this surgery is the best and no other can beat it.

User

I took my son to the doctors today in a bit of a panic, we were seen straight away and the doctor was great at calming us both down, the doctor also rang at the close of surgery to check he was ok.

User

Got a poorly boy today. Rang for advice, got an appointment within the hour and saw Dr Brodie who was brilliant with him. Prescription done and hopefully he will be better soon. Thank you to all at Pennygate.

From first registering at the practice I have

found all the staff to be friendly, polite and really helpful, From the receptionists, to the nurses and Doctors. You all do an immense job and particularly given the current climate of demands and budgets. Forward thinking and innovative! Ive just registered on line and found this to be a great tool too! Highly recommended.

After reading other reviews about pennygate, I felt it was important to write my review. I have awarded the surgery with a 5* because all the doctors at this surgery are excellent. Yes you do have to wait for appointments if it is not a emergency, which I feel is very acceptable. I have had to use the triage system for my young children and they have always been seen. The staff are excellent at reassuring you, I have never been given the impression that you are wasting their time. Yes there use to be a problem with the old expensive telephone number, but even with that, I would never change my rating, my rating is based on the excellent service everyone at the surgery provides. Keep up the good work!!!

ANP Claire sent my mum to A&E this morning as she was concerned about mum's symptoms given that she has chronic kidney disease. Thank you Claire for being on the ball. A&E tested for various things and thankfully I was able to bring her home after 4 hours with a bag of meds.

Things can really go reverse ....when you don't smoke or drink during pregnancy. I wouldn't even drink Guinness neither. Two of my children were big babies 8.6lb and 9lb. It's me that was small baby at 5lb ,when my mother smoked during pregnancy and drinking Guinness. It effects babies growth. They didn't have scans to check my size, to warn my mother about home - birth and the next complication. I should of been admitted in hospital straightaway. No later than 1 hours. That could of avoided fit ,after birth. At Manchester Royal they rule out fits of epilepsy , diabetes, do blood fastings to check on the liver and Pancras. No investigations and under speculations, after when the doctor discharged me. My mother never came back to market street medical centre in the past and said speech problems, after a fit at birth or my doctor. Instead I was picked up none speaking age three or four at a nursery. Going in with a low IQ at St bendicts primary school. Were they was refusing my education. Discussing it with a education psychologist, who new nothing about my fit. The doctor who let me go ...would known much more. It's convinced a load of people I have come under a permanent difficulty. The IQ test shows I'm not coming under general learning difficulties regarding a fit at birth. I was discharged later, no Health visitors was checking child development age two. No Ppl claim or unemployment supporters allowance, only for general learning difficulties. It's a job seeker benefit had rejection towards my education. Mother seeking advise too later. Having choices if it going to be a special needs school or main steam school. The IQ test showed I was too clever for a special needs schools.

Not sure what the point of change of details forms are. When I moved first time a few years ago I filled in form more than once before it was changed. Moved again, yet again had to fill form in more than once! When I got married and changed my name I had to Chase that up, was put in sysyem but wasn't changed. Then moved again to our current house. Was actually changed first time, but noticed the other day on patients online that my daughter address, which I did put on form wasn't changed! ( over a year ago this) Also noticed that I am still miss and not Mrs( this was over two years ago).. So yet again I have to make a trip to doctors ! I never make complaints but Seriously this needs looking at!

User

repeat prescription request for my partner put in using the automated line on thursday. turned up today to request and it hasnt been done. no communication to tell us the situation and no way of.having it ready while i wait. we are unable to return any other day and he has been out of vital tablets for days. pharmacy wont even issue an emergency supply cos the surgery is open. if the prescription cant be issued we should be told.

User

It's not the Doctors or staff that I don't like it's the fact that you are charged a ridiculous amount per phone call to be stuck in a queue to be told no appointments. I have an 8 month old who has been ill since last Wednesday. I have spent over Β£7 trying to get through today since 8:30 to be told at 11:30 I need to ring back after 1:30. How is this acceptable? It is a service provision for sick, vulnerable people who shouldn't be charged an arm and a leg for what should be s short phone call!!

User

I have been trying to ring the surgery for over an hour now ... 17 times I've rang and can't even get on to the waiting system! οΏ½ Is there a problem with the phones??

User

After booking 3 appointmenents for my 6 year old daughter to have a blood test i had waited 2weeks for the appointment, i took her to today. Obviously explaining to a 6 year old that they are having blood tests is distressing enough we turned up to be told that they are not insured to do her blood test. We had to go to leigh hospital she cried all the way there as she had to wait even longer not being 'scared' thank you pennygate medical centre.

User

Rang today at 10am for an appointment for my six month yr old they said they have and emergancy appointments for a 6 month old can you get here at 10.20 bearing in minf we live a 10 min drive away and my girlfriend dosen't drive and im at work i said she would struggle to get there in 20 mins to which the receptionist said 'can she not get a taxi ' what in 20 mins love that includeds ordering one packing the babys bag and pram . Absolute joke they are ignorant arses at this centre !!!!!!!!!

User

One of the worst surgeries I've ever had to deal with. Constantly getting my medication wrong or not issuing it at all. Spend my days off chasing it down because staff are useless at processing repeat prescriptions. Waste of time, money and resources. In need of new admin staff that aren't rude or a disgrace to the hard working doctors.

User

If I could give a minus for this appointment I would. Waited over an hour only to be told the nurse wasn't in. I wonder how much longer I would have been left waiting had I not gone back downstairs to enquire about the delay. Fuming doesn't cover how I feel right now.

User

I have a few different issues that mean I have to get myself in a frame of mind to visit the practice, one such thing is blood tests, I needed a blood test so asked husband to make an appointment so I could give myself time to work up to it, he was told to just come in go to reception she (receptionist) would let us go straight in, starved last night for this morning to have it done, arrived and was told by another receptionist sorry you need to book it. I have been told that I cannot have medication till the test been done. So looks like I will have some withdrawing to do, thankyou very much to the one who said yes its fine just come in.

I never make complaints but Seriously this needs looking at!

repeat prescription request for my partner put in using the automated line on thursday. turned up today to request and it hasnt been done. no communication to tell us the situation and no way of.having it ready while i wait. we are unable to return any other day and he has been out of vital tablets for days. pharmacy wont even issue an emergency supply cos the surgery is open. if the prescription cant be issued we should be told.

I have been trying to ring the surgery for over an hour now ... 17 times I've rang and can't even get on to the waiting system! οΏ½ Is there a problem with the phones??

After booking 3 appointmenents for my 6 year old daughter to have a blood test i had waited 2weeks for the appointment, i took her to today. Obviously explaining to a 6 year old that they are having blood tests is distressing enough we turned up to be told that they are not insured to do her blood test. We had to go to leigh hospital she cried all the way there as she had to wait even longer not being 'scared' thank you pennygate medical centre.

If I could give a minus for this appointment I would. Waited over an hour only to be told the nurse wasn't in. I wonder how much longer I would have been left waiting had I not gone back downstairs to enquire about the delay. Fuming doesn't cover how I feel right now.
