Flossing! No, not the dance ­¤Öł for your teeth ­¤śü give it a go! Don't be put off if your gums bleed at first, that's normal if you haven't cleaned between your teeth before. Persevering is key! The bleeding will subside and your gums will be much healthier ­¤śŖ­¤æŹ if you have any concern about your gums, book in to see your dentist. Happy Thursday! ­¤śŖ­¤śŖ

... Thank you for supporting me to take part in the Lendwithcare Zambia Bike Ride 2020. I'm really looking forward to the ride and the opportunity to meet villagers who are benefitting from the charity's work. Care International, through lendwithcare, provide microfinance loans to help families work their way out of poverty. What I love about lendwithcare.org is that the money you give goes directly in loans to the people you choose AND if the loan is repaid it can be reused to help the next family in need, and the next and so on. In this way even small amounts of money can make a big difference to lots of families by helping them work their way out of situations that trap them into poverty. It's with very sad faces all round that we say goodbye to Mr Cornall. Jim has seen his last patient and has officially retired ­¤śŁ Jim would like to thank all of his patients old and new for the last 34 years. As a team, we would like to thank Jim for all his hard work and efforts over the years and he will be sadly missed! ŌØż’ĖÅ Enjoy your retirement Jim and I'm sure we shall be seeing you soon ­¤żŚ xxxxx

Please be careful when eating sweet treats! They should be treats only and eaten at meal times. Too much sugar causes your teeth to decay. Next time you're shopping, have a look on the labels to see how much sugar is in the foods you've selected. A change to a less sugar filled diet won't only help prevent decay, but is also healthier! ­¤śŖ

One of our patients is doing a triathlon in aid of our local food bank. The triathlon is on Sunday 14th April and all donations are to be received by Friday 29th March. Anything that will "keep", for example; things such as tins, packets, toiletries and non-perishable goods are all welcome. Penwortham Dental has gladly agreed to be a collection point for this and we hope to help the best we can. If you wish to donate, please feel free to pop in! Did you know if you have missing teeth they can now be repalced by dental implants? ­¤żŁ Dental implants are titanium screws placed in the jaw that are restored with a crown/bridge/denture to give you the next best thing to a natural tooth. This enanbles you to eat things you wouldn't usually be able to eat without a struggle if you have dentures or gaps such as apples/tougher meats/salads/nuts. In this particular case; the teeth are x-rayed and a 3D scan is taken to determine the anatomy of the jaw and the positioning of the implant.
