We recently visited Portofino for Sunday lunch. We were very impressed with the service and the attention given to our food preferences. The food standard was very good and we really enjoyed our visit. We will be back.

We had a lovely meal here today.Staff were friendly and very helpful .The food was delicious.We will be coming back soon .Dont read all these negative reviews go and visit you wont be dissappointed .

Started with cocktails in Mijito listening to the brilliant guitarist. Then moved next door to Portofino for Sunday lunch at 5 pm!

Brilliant minestrone soup and a roast beef dinner and still able to listen to the music. Great day out, will definitely repeat soon

Quite simply the best mussels in white wine sauce that can be found anywhere. Love them and always order them! Three of us had them yesterday and we all said the same.

Only down for 1 night. All I can say is fantastic food and superb service.. Beer spot on too... ’┐Į’┐Į

My favourite place, went on a Monday evening to celebrate our anniversary with my boyfriend. It wasn't as busy as at weekends, service was excellent. Cocktail and food was delicious. We had a fab time x

Loved the food- it was lovely- the only complaint was the waitress couldn't speak very good english and did not understand what i was asking her- was asking what the soup and she did not understand when i was asking about diffrent wines- again she had not got a clue !!-Apart from that it was fab x

We had 17 of us and everyone one of us were over the moon with our food and service!

After meaning to go for many moons and having moved to the area recently, we went out for our 17th valentines this evening last min and it was lovely. Other half was really impressed with the flavour of his chicken and creamy mushroom dish (sorry to butcher it, think it was Porto Bella crema?) and my lasagna was delish, just annoyed I couldn't finish it alongside our delicious garlic breads. Service was lovely too thank you. Full to the brim literally, job done ’┐Į look forward to going again

Beautiful food as agreed by our group. All fresh, tasty and served well. Drinks good, decor fresh and modern. What makes this 4 instead of 5? Inflated prices and lack of space between tables. Other than this, all good.

I asked for a small side plate to be told they donŌĆÖt have any as they were all out ’┐Į Service was very slow sat waiting for drinks for 20 mins, my main came and it was stone cold I managed to find someone and told them, no apology just took it away they brought another out 10 mins later the beef was extremely rare covered in blood which I couldnŌĆÖt eat, they asked if I wanted something else by this time I was cured so the answer was no. Asked for the bill and the waiter kindly told me he hasnŌĆÖt charged for mine ! Which is nice of them seen as I didnŌĆÖt have one! ItŌĆÖs a shame but wonŌĆÖt be going back

A really not busy evening in the restaurant but we had little attention. It has a new menu from when we were last there and it feels that the prices seem to have gone up a lot. ┬Ż9.50 for a not large plate of mussels seemed a bit much. The veal with linguine was actually veal and spaghetti.

I dont think I'll be rushing back there. Standards have gone down. They have lost the personal service and atmosphere.

Walked in on MotherŌĆÖs Day and they sorted the two of us a table which was good. Service was a bit slow and had to ask twice for a couple of things but were mad busy so let them off. Food was ok BUT little glass tea light holder and pepper and salt mill weŌĆÖre both really manky, to use a good Lancashire word. Never been cleaned and were actually off putting so we hid them behind the flowers. I cleaned the pepper grinder with my napkin!

Visited every year since it opened and still great food.But service poor and my wife's main course was cold. Won't be going again.

Service was slow, new staff needed more training as she didn't exactly know what she was doing!

Service shocking drink was spilled over my friend on her clothes in her handbag all over her watch. They were not bothered and the lady in charge was a joke. She thought we just didnt want to pay the bill that was far from it. Food was just ok but they need to look at customer service.

Lovely restaurant inside, steak was very tasty however the chips were frozen chips with fancy salt sprinkled on them, veg was like mush, asparagus looked like a limp green bean, Diane sauce was cold sent this back. Definately would not recommend or go back in a hurry.

Drinks took an hour and were still wrong, food took 2 hours didn't get any of our sides and when coming to pay the women at the desk was awful. Snatching the machine away from us before we had even payed. On the plus side the food and drinks were nice once they arrived.

I used to love Portofinos and always recommend it to everyone even though people said service was awful and had a bad reputation, well after last night I couldn't agree more. To cut a long story short I Found 3 hairs in my food (long and black so definitely not mine) two mouthfuls in I thought I can't eat this after seeing the third hair sprawled across my plate so apologised because I hate complaining and sent the dish back. My boyfriend who I was with said do I want him to wait till my dish came back of course I said no and he ate his meal, 30minutes later my dish still hadn't returned so I asked where it was... there was a slight pause and he said oh you wanted another one. Now I don't know about you but if I go out for a meal it's because I am hungry and am expecting to eat, well no I wasn't offered another dish, waiters were avoiding the table because they felt awkward and I had to keep trying to catch someone's eye to order a coffee, then that came without any sugars or anything, no one apologised so I asked to speak to the person in charge, another 20minutes later nothing so I asked again, then eventually I got taken up to the office upstairs. Why I had to go all the way up there in my heels instead of someone coming down to see me is beyond me! It's safe to say I was mad but at the same time I would never be rude, once we eventually complained I said I was more than happy to pay for the drinks we had but I refused to pay for the meal I never got and even the food my boyfriend received because we'd gone out for a meal together which actually just ended up me watching him eat. I was incredibly disappointed, it wasn't busy so in my eyes there was no excuse for the poor service, the hair in my food and the lack of sympathy to what had gone wrong. Portofinos needs to be careful there are a lot of competitors now in Lytham who offer excellent service and attention to detail and if they're nor offering it well people just won't go. I can honestly say it has made me sad that what used to be one of my favourite places to go because it had been a part of Lytham for so long is now a place I won't be going again and won't be recommending to friends or family. So much for long story short ’┐Į essay!

Hadn't been to Portifinos for some time so we thought we'd give it a go. Wish we hadn't.



It was very busy, but that seemed like an excuse to serve poor quality badly cooked food. It's not.



I had the Carpaccio which was ok, but not much of it for what it costs, I'd expect half as much again.



Then the Portifinos pizza which was good, albeit light on toppings.



My wife had a terrible experience compared to my 'slight' disappointments.



Lamb chops to start... looked like scraps you would throw to the dog. Crap quality, overcooked. We complained and had another set delivered, just the same. Fatty, charred, tasteless, awful quality. She probably got about 1 chop worth of 'ok' meat off the 4 that were sent. Disgusting for the money.



She ordered the rump steak, medium. And when it came, less than a cm thick cooked 'well done' all the way through, fatty, crap quality meat. We sent it back. After 5 mins the next one came with slabs of blue cheese on top not even melted... signalling what we were about to find... she cut into it and it was basically raw meat. We sent it back.



The waiter was very apologetic and you could see the restaurant was very busy, but if they send rubbish out when they are busy they should half their prices.



As it stands their prices have crept up over the years and do not represent good value at all. The quality of their produce has fallen over the years too and this meal will definitely be the last one we have at what used to be my favourite family spot in Lytham.



Portifinos, you can't even cook a steak! I'd give up and close down if that was the case.

Dined here today , need a new chef , the food was lukewarm at best , rack of lamb tough as old boots , we did have a lovely polite server , however as far as I could see there was only 4 diners including us in the place and even then they couldnŌĆÖt get the food right , was also there a few weeks ago and it wasnŌĆÖt much better then , my advice donŌĆÖt bother

As it stands their prices have crept up over the years and do not represent good value at all. The quality of their produce has fallen over the years too and this meal will definitely be the last one we have at what used to be my favourite family spot in Lytham.



Portifinos, you can't even cook a steak! I'd give up and close down if that was the case.

Dined here today , need a new chef , the food was lukewarm at best , rack of lamb tough as old boots , we did have a lovely polite server , however as far as I could see there was only 4 diners including us in the place and even then they couldnŌĆÖt get the food right , was also there a few weeks ago and it wasnŌĆÖt much better then , my advice donŌĆÖt bother
