At Premier Inn, we’re proud to say we have so many amazing women working for us. From work placements and training courses to leading apprenticeship programmes, we are always striving for them to go further. Here’s just one of the many stories we have to share about the talented women who work at Premier Inn and is proof that hard work pays off!
At the age of 18 Michaela Reynolds was one of 172 people put forward for 19 jobs. Despite having to catch five different buses to an...d from work, this didn’t stop her determination as she worked her way up from Housekeeper to Head Housekeeper to Reception Team Leader. After achieving her Level 4 apprenticeship, she became Hotel Manager of not just one, but two of our Birmingham hotels. To achieve all of this in just five and a half years is incredible.
She says: “I truly endorse this business as a great place to work. I was lucky with the support I’ve had from my managers here – when I joined I was a shy 18-year-old, but my managers along the way have recognised my potential and helped me to develop.”

For Level 4 apprentice and Assistant Manager Neil Hunt, since working for Whitbread, it’s all been about the growth in his self-confidence. Neil believes Whitbread has so much potential and scope for development for employees wanting to progress through the company and that the opportunities are endless. We’re proud to say that Whitbread are committed to investing in quality apprenticeships. Of the 647 apprenticeships Whitbread currently have in learning, 300 of them started last year. To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we’re sharing the stories of just some of our amazing apprentices who tell us what their apprenticeships have meant for them.
Reception team member Beth Walker realised hospitality was her calling after a week’s work experience with Premier Inn. Now a full time apprentice, she says working for Premier Inn has built her self-confidence and significantly grown her organisation and communication skills. You have the best staff at this hotel (especially Dave on reception). We stayed 2 nights at the weekend with a large amount of children and adults who were competing at a National Cheer Competition in the Echo Arena. They went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Dave even printed car park options out for us near the venue and put up a GOOD LUCK poster. Excellent all round.

User

Very good hotel. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful as were the staff in the Brewers Fayre where we had food. Lovely clean rooms., would stay here again.

User

The staff very welcoming and fantastic clean hotel and would recommend people to stay in Widnes.

User

The hotel staff's are amazing and wonderful. The rooms are very clean and the environment is very family friendly. The restaurant is an added value cos my children enjoyed the breakfast which happens to be free for kids.

We are definitely going back. Thank you again to the staff who made my birthday enjoyable and memorable as we came to celebrate my birthday and I was given a chocolate as my birthday gift.

User

Stayed there Thursday night 1st of June and wow what place.. the young lady who was working the desk in the evening was absolutely fantastic big smiles and so much fun. Really helpfull also. Went across to brewers for food and again fantastic service considering we was fairly late food was amazing (mixed grill all the way) fantastic menu. Back to the room super clean and the best sleep I've had in so long wanted to take the bed with me.. Recommend this place to everyone. 10 out of 10 all round superb place to relax for the evening. Will use in the near future

User

Stayed here last month for one night. Nice room with much needed air con!! Great value for money! Good dinner and breakfast at a decent price from restaurant too. I left my toiletries bag behind and Louise from reception helpfully tracked it down and posted it back to Me. 5 Customer Service from Her Thanks!

Stayed at the Premier Inn Widnes on Thursday 24th May and Friday 25th May 2018, couldn't fault anything! The staff were very friendly and helpful and greeted you with big smiles which was lovely to see! The room was very clean and we actually slept very well, no noise or disturbance! We have stayed at Premier Inn in other locations and always experienced the same friendly atmosphere! I would recommend the Premier Inn at Widnes because there is a cinema an ice rink, Tesco Extra, Frankie and Benny's, Toby Carvery, McDonalds, Morrisons, Pet place, B+Ms and other stores all within walking distance of the hotel! I would definitely stay here again for sure! If you are new to the area though be careful when you drive out of the hotel not to turn onto the new Runcorn bridge because it is a toll bridge and you will be charged to go over it..we made this mistake as we took the wrong turning it is a simple mistake to make but obviously this doesn't reflect on the hotel at all , the hotel was perfect and couldn't be faulted! Thank you Premier Inn at Widnes for our lovely stay and well done to all your very friendly staff!

User

My first stay at a Premier Inn and have to say it was amazing value for money. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful too. Will definately do it again. Thank you.

User

Lovely cheerful staff on arrival , really nice room , safe cctv controlled car park, and the everything you can pile in your face breakfast was lovely , kids under 14 or 15 eat free I can't remember as mine are older but for young families it's a really good deal. Can't fault the morning staff in the Premier Inn or Brewers Fayre. Will book again. Used as a stop over to go to watch Football in Liverpool, not too far away and the price in the city balloons on match days but here it's the same , good on you !!

User

I stayed here with my family on a weekend away to watch soccer aid. We had a great time, room was airy, staff were friendly and Tom was a great help changing our room so that my 2 grown up sons didn’t have to share a bed defo returning again, can’t fault it, well done guys

User

Great location and plenty to do for an overnight stay. I was there with my son to go to Anfield next day. Lovely clean and comfortable room as expected and very friendly staff. Restaurants nearby and even went ice skating after evening meal. Breakfast was very good value for money.

User

Arrived to a very warm welcome the Receptionist was most helpful , lovely room

Tea and coffee facilities lovely and quiet ,overall a very good stay

User

Absolutely nothing wrong with our stay absolutely fantastic very friendly staff and would definitely recommend it.... thank you all

User

Stayed one night before heading to north Wales from highlands easy to get to clean friendly face when you walk in looked at staying in Liverpool this was our best option

User

The room was really nice and a great size (since we asked for a family room) however when we came, there was a double bed, a single bed and then they had put a mattress on the floor which was hard. This was disappointing as there was enough space for another single bed.

Other than that it was a nice place to stay and the staff were absolutely lovely, very helpful.

User

The Premier Inn it self was lovely. The staff always helpful and cheerful. However, The Brewers Fayre was an absolute disaster for our evening meal. The mains turned up before our starter, the starter was plonked down on the table and was only just warm. The haddock was greasy. The chicken and chorizo pie came with chips but should have been creamy potatoes and then the wrong pudding arrived. I would not gave paid in full without a fuss but we were on a meal deal..... then at breakfast this morning Lauren made my day. She helped me carry some tea and coffee to our room and some bacon sandwiches, (because my husband refused to go in the Brewers Fayre again). She couldn't do enough for us and was so cheerful she cheered me up no end.

User

Noise from power station all night long, the girl on reception just said she would log it.
