Last weekend members of Media Reserves gathered to thank two of its personnel for their years of service, as they retire from the Squadron.
Squadron Leaders Wayne Palmer and Stephen Jolly were presented with gifts from Wing Commander Howard Leader.
With over 60 years of service to the Air Force, including deployments to Afghanistan, Wayne and Stephen made a huge contribution to the Squadron and the wider Air Force.
... You have been an inspiration to many and friends to all.

As the RAF's only specialist media capability we are always on the lookout for media professionals to join our team of Part-Time Volunteer Reservists. Amy Casey of BFBS said, "I have always been inspired by the people from the RAF that I have worked with in my civilian role for BFBS, and I really wanted to be part of it.” Today Wg Cdr Howard Leader, OC RAF Media Reserves, attested Amy to 7644 Sqn. Welcome to the RAF Media Reserves family Amy. We look forward to working with you in a blue suit!

What an amazing centenary year for the Royal Air Force and RAF Media Reserves! We’re hugely proud and honoured to have played a central role in RAF100 providing all kinds of media support, planning, media minding, photographic and video output for a large number of the events around the country and abroad. Some of the events we’ve supported include the RAF100 Baton Relay, Aircraft Tours, memorial services and the London parade to name just a few.
Here’s to the next 100 years!

A fantastic opportunity to film from a C-130J Hercules and work alongside a British Army media team on the DZ. This job doesn’t get much better! #noordinaryjob

This weekend we sent a small team to IWM Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show. One of the big themes for RAF100 has been ‘inspire’ and this video aims to tell this story in 30 seconds and just 4 words.

We provided a mobile news team for the Battle of Britain Memorial Service at Westminster Abbey on Sunday. It was a privilege and pleasure to talk to two veteran WAAFs (Women’s Auxiliary Air Force) who worked as plotters during the Battle of Britain. Particularly liked the fact that they used Tiddlywinks as the counters on the map table in the Filter Room 🙂

‘If it’s not raining, it’s not training’ was the view of one of the instructors at Altcar Challenge. Embracing the wet and sandy conditions, a mobile news team from 7644 Sqn captured stills, shot film and conducted interviews. Here’s the film part of the package.

A 7644 Sqn photographer was part of a Mobile News Team covering Ex Altcar Challenge 18, Europe's biggest all-reservist competition.

The RAF hashtag #NoOrdinaryJob is not overstated. I’ve been all over the world on RAF media jobs but producing and directing the Braemar Gathering RAF Tug of War film has been one of the most rewarding. Pre-production planning started two months ago with an inspiring meet up with the tug of war team while covering the Royal Welsh Show. I saw the emotional rollercoaster of the competition and wanted to capture the grit of the battle, deflation of defeat and elation of victory....

Media Reserves continue to provide excellent media support to the RAF100 campaign. This weekend we’re at the RAF100 Aircraft Tour in Birmingham. Great local TV news coverage and some outstanding social media imagery and videos produced like this one on diversity in the RAF.
