Base 1 had a fun afternoon celebrating our own Scouse day as part of our Liverpool topic. We had tattoo painting, wore pyjamas and rollers and the infamous Scousebrow. We listened to Scouse House and had a chippy tea!

We enjoyed a visit from LFC Academy players as part of their community development, they joined us for lessons in class and for a game of football at playtime.

On Friday we had a visit from our local MP Stephen Twigg. Stephen had a tour of the school and met pupils and staff. He commented on the development of the grounds particularly our new sensory garden since his last visit. Stephen has referenced the work of the school on a number of occasions in Parliament during debates relating to education and is very involved and committed to educational improvement in our region.

Next week is the first Neuro Diversity week - an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the diversity in learning and thinking that we have amongst us. It is the brainchild of Sienna Castellon, a 16 year old girl with autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD. In her words, she "wants to flip the narrative so that instead of perceiving learning differences as something negative, we focus on the many strengths and advantages that come from seeing and perceiving the world different...ly."
Have a look at Sienna's website, we think it's a great idea that there is a national initiative to raise the profile of neuro diversity and to offer support to young people who may think a little differently to the rest of the population. Sienna also made a webpage when she was 13, with the aim of offering support to young people with autism. Check that out too.

We enjoyed welcoming visitors to school on Wednesday for our art exhibition - our fabulous artwork was displayed for all to see!

We thought our pupils would love this, if they would like to draw a picture/make a short video/write a story to enter our school in the competition that would be amazing! (We are aware terms and conditions state up to age 11 but we have it on good authority that you have to be in it to win it!!)

Recently Class 15 had a great experience with Fixers film makers. Fixers are motivated by personal experience to make positive change for themselves and those around them and the Fixers organisation worked with our class of fixers to produce a film. The fixers organisation use digital, print and broadcast media to enable young people to get their voices heard as far and wide as possible.
